umm, its a really big ship that has had some sort of accident that made it sink, but i dont know why it sank, its called "pride of america" and i was just interested in learning wtf happened, how can such a big ship sink, well almost sink. its a new ship too.

"The pride of America sinks"

Did anyone else smirk at that? :E

BOOM!!!
A little bomb and the whole thing goes DOWN!!!
There is no pride in America so I'm thinking about divine work....

Will you give us a link to the full story, or you'll just continue shitting with us?

Mmm or some underwater power tools :naughty:

Why not dump everything on terrorism eh? Ya know september 11th doesnt necisarily have to be "Turrorism" as george bush says, they didnt catch any of the organizers or anything.

Actually they did catch a few of the big organizers.

well i guess it wasnt terror after all, just bad mecanics. good it happened now and not in the middle of the atlantic, it can hold 2000 people apparantly.

thats a lot of people. good noone got killed. in a norvegian paper is says when the ship leaned over it pushed a 60000 ton crane over so that it fell and demolished 2 buildings. sounds like doomsday for the harbour workers.

regardless of who organized it, 9/11 was still terrorism lavrik (unless it was a national government organizing it, in which case it would have been an act of war i suppose).

One would wonder why people are allowed to get away with comments like this, but, if anyone said "There's no pride in Britain," for example, all hell would break loose.

Only pride in Britian I know of is the annual pride march in London.

;)

there hasn't been pride in Britain since we lost the empire.

WTF is the pride march... OMG it's not that thing with the Queen is it?

I know. Even though my past comment was over the top, previous patriotic comments were gouged and stomped; Meanwhile, Anti-Patriot comments are allowed to go without site criticism...in fact, it seems as if they're almost encouraged.

/me points at a few posts up.

meh, the whole world seems to be caught up in this big "Lets hate America because thats what everybody else does" kind of thing. The more powerful the U.S. gets the more people seem to think that it is "evil" and does things completely wrong. Hopefully this trend will pass relatively soon.

Like my friend once said, "When you're number one, there's gonna be mother-f*ckers that hate you."

Not really, you think the UK has pride with Tony Blair at our helm and the Royal Family as our um.. Royal Family ?

Every country has its shitty areas and in the case of America, if they ( the country and the government, not so much the people ) continue to believe they're the centre of the universe then they best be prepared for all the targetted jokes and humor comments that come with that self given title.

Point proven.

Their military is made up with a substantial amount of criminals, they're indebt by some stupid amount of cash that I've now lost track of and as for technology... yeah probably. 1/3. Not bad :)

Yes, criminals who have to graduate Highschool.
And in roughly 5 years, those criminals will have to have a college education(be it provided with military funds or not).

Anyway, it's not like American soldiers are the only soldiers who have broken laws.
I'd like to see one person on these forums honestly say they've never broken any kind of law - Big or small.

How many times do you have to break the law for it to make you a criminal?

I once stole a penny sweet and hid it in my shoe. When I got out of the shop it was covered in fluff.
My criminal mastermind ended that day ;(

Hold meh ;(

i have a lot of pride for america, as do most of hte people...about all the people i know. we all talk about how other nations are jealous of our freedom and mightyness, its all fun and games and true in someways. the world looks at us like normal people look at rich people, sometimes wanting wut they have and haveing a deep almost unknown hatred for them. everyone should love or have pride for their country.

Well spoken, King.

I still have pride in America, and what it stands for and the people that live here. I might be anti-Bush, but I'm also getting sick of the anti American remarks. Don't hate America, stop calling us fat, and you know what, were fat because we can afford to eat HA! We worked hard for what we have, we've sacrificed a lot to get here, and if you hate us so much don't watch our movies, listen to our music, or play our video games (and since Valve is an American company sucks to be you)

Don't get us wrong. America is a great country ( Disney Land, etc ) and the people can be warm and friendly but in terms of reputation, the country and certain aspects of the country ( law, government, actions ) it's known as a global pisstake.

If America craves respect from the other nations then it first needs to deflate it's disillusioned ego and give some respect to others. People aren't jeallous of America, it's more the fact they pity the country because it thinks it's the centre of the universe when, like the rest of us, it's just another nation with its pros and its cons. And believe me, it does have its problems. I know this, you know this.

Everytime someone slates America, even in humor, because of a stupid decision or another court case about someone getting hot coffee etc some of you come out with the defense "oh you're just jealous!" but lets try turning that around..

The English are seen as a country of "Rightho Roger" "Tally Ho" and "Spiffing chaps" and we laugh it off. However, imagine if we said "You're just jealous that we speak like this what what" etc.. You'd probably cringe.

Yeah, welcome to our point of view :)

I respect everyone else, I always have, which is why I am starting to get pissed at all the anti American sentiment. I don't see America as having an inflated ego, the government maybe, but the people are usually very humble. I can't tell my leaders how to act, and sorry if there policies bother you, they bother me too. But can't we all just get along?
