Prom Zoot

I gotta get a Zoot Suit for prom fairly quickly now. It's May 6th, crept up way too fast.

Thinking of going with black with white pinstripes. What do you guys think? Should I go with another style? My date is also wearing a black style dress so I figure I'd match and we'd look nice.

Go with the black w/ white pinstripes or the charcoal w/ gangster stripes. The latter's actually really slick, and will still go well with your date's black dress.

I never went to prom, myself. If I had, though, I would've worn that purple "Joker" suit. Hot damn, that's class.

Yeah the Joker one is badass. I couldn't see myself in it but it can be pulled off very well I bet.

lol no not wearing them. It's mainly formal wear nowadays. But it'd be akin to saying to black society "Anyone who wears those African tribal colors type clothes deserves to be shot"

No one really wears those as clothes all the time except maybe for a specific occasion, but saying it isn't going to end well.

Um no it was worn by Mexicans primarily from the 20's to 40's like as regular going out clothes. It's popular with Filipinos too due to common heritage (Both Spanish ruled)

Just wear a plain black single-breasted suit and a nice shirt and tie (don't get a plain white shirt and black tie, it'll be like a funeral outfit), or if it's a black tie affair get yourself a dinner suit and shirt (winged collar looks nicer with a bow tie, I don't really like the ones with pleats). You won't look like a nob....
