Don't want to rain on your parade but I think this was posted in another thread somewhere, think it was embedded in the 'core' thread but not entirely sure.
Regardless, there decision basically nullfies the only reason to get the $600 version unless you have the urge to burn cash. It definately makes the PS3 a more attractive option now though, since it's effectively a $500 console.
You can buy a much bigger HD for less than $100, and for me it's not a problem to just plug it into the wall. Also, I have a PSP which will do fine as a card reader. So ... buying the $600 version would be a bad deal for me and most other people.
Oh yeah...

No, Sony is using standard hard drives for the PS3. They did the same for the PS2 actually, I'm using a 120GB Maxtor HD with HDLoader right now. Anyway I'm 100% sure, they've announced that standard HDs will be compatible with the PS3.
They're coming out in time for the HD DVD drive release - Just a cable with HDMI at one end and the standard HD 360 console connection at the other. Source here.I didn't think the 360 was getting HDMI, just a software update to allow 1080p. Not that this maters - there's very little between component, vga and hdmi. It's just more marketing fluff.
The 360 is getting HDMI too, before the PS3 release - and a software update (also due before PS3 release) is knocking the HD output up to 1080p. If you want HD DVDs on your HDTVs without having to sell your wife and kids, this is the way to go.
Because? The price will be almost identical.
Wii60 is the way i'm going. Wether you have a 360 or a PS3, you'll still be buying a Wii.
Than I'm sure you can provide a source for it. Since your 100%.
It's not 3rd party, Microsoft make it. I'm not sure what resolutions it offers, but the 360 can already handle 1080i - I doubt it would take much in the way of altered software to put out non-interlaced 1080.Unless I'm mistaken, the 3rd party HDMI accessory won't display actual 1080p due to hardware limitations (HDCP compliancy). Bottom line is, I'm pretty sure the ATi chipset for Xbox 360 does not offer the support for true HDMI capabilities, so you won't get all the benefits but it'll still function partially.
