Raedeon 9500

What I'm looking for is some reviews on the Raedeon 9500. If it plays games good and if you like it and any problems with it. Thanks.

i have a 9500, its good. i have 512 pc3200 and a athlon 2500@10x200(2800 w/400 fsb) right now. i got 4086 3dmark 2003 with it useing the softmod. However, i was artifacting so i had to stop. I still get close to 3000. a radeon 9500 is about the prefromace as a gf4 ti-4200/4400, but it has directx 9 support and all the updated pixel shaders ect.

Great card if you can get it to unlock, faster/as fast as a 9700 pro. sucks mine didnt.

Go onto e-bay. But an 9500 PRO with the "L" shaped memory modules on a REd board. Those cna be Oc'ed to the speed of a 9700 PRO. Make sure you get one with 8 pipelines, instead of 4.

Equivelent to a GF4 Ti-4200/4400? What benchmarks (ingame or synthetic) have you seen those? It benchmarks much higher than either of those cards. a 9100 PRO is about equivelent to a Ti4200. a 9500 PRO is much, much better.

Try not to mislead people.

You need a 9500non pro to make it perform like a 9700pro.

It has to have the "L" shaped memory, and have a Red PCB yes, but a pro will never perform like a 9700pro.

My 9500nonpro was a success in softmodding to a 9700nonpro, and then I oced it to 9700pro speeds. I got 5186 in 3dmark03, and 16512 in 3dmark01.

A damn good card, considering Im beating some 9700pro benchmarks with a 140$ card.

9500pros cannot mod to nothing

Reason being they have the 128bit bus

The 9500 with L memory has the 256 bit bus (same as 9700/9800) w

And you seriously think there is one of those left on the market?
If a 9500 with 256bit memory and 4*1 pipelines can perform lika a 9700, why shouldn't an overklocked 9500PRO with 128bit memory and 8*1 pipelines do it?

How long could you go with you budget? How much do you have?

Because of what you mentioned, the 256 bits memory. It can do alot, the evidence is the FX fiasco.

Raw performance would be maybe 10%-20% over the 4800. However the 4800 doesn't support DX9 and doesn't handle AA/AF nearly as well as the 9500.

There are, i have one. I got less than a month ago. They are still at newegg. 9500pro is fine, but if you are going to put out close to $200 you might as well get a 9700 non-pro. Just be sure to get the red "L" shaped radeon 9500, and try to unlock it. If it doesnt work, then you still have a fine card. yes you can unlock a 9500pro, i just wish i remembered the links to do it.

I just got one less than 2 weeks ago. Softmodded successfully.
