Anytime I tune into rap (...we don't get many radios stations where I live), it's some loser talking about his bitches, his nine, his gang, how he's a "hardballin' gangsta," how he owns the streets, etc. even though they grew up rich, pampered, went to a public school, etc. It's really hilarious when you think about it.

I'm not a rap fan but there's some stuff I can tolerate; my question is how can you list Eminem as your favourite rapper? Seriously, even by rap standards he is god awful

i used to listen to some, and my friend is into hip hop.

but the only ones i can stand are

busdriver(not sure if this is an artist or a song)
hyrogliphics
del the funky homospaian(also in gorillaz)
sage francis

and also listen to
necro(for fun every now and then)
and nwa

but for the most part i think rap is crap
 
I don't nesecerally go for rap music but I do like some of the 80's rap though such as "The message." There are a few Tupac songs I don't mind either. Other then that I realy dislike rap.
 
There's a lot of underground artists out there that's appeasing to listen to. I don't like that fiddy stuff.

Anywhere from Hieroglyphics to Aesop. Pretty broad, don't really listen to Hip Hop as much as I used to... something about it... just got me bored.
 
The Game? You got to be ****ing kidding me. I've seen Tom Jones rap better then he does.
 
Rap that I hate the most are songs that take music from other songs, add a few notes, and give it new lyrics. Case in point, the song that uses the main theme from Clint Mansell's Summer Overture. I like the original a lot, its a great instrumental piece from the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack. However when I heard the abomination someone turned it into, I wanted to kill people.

And on another note, why the hell do people listen to songs with chorus lines like "we ain't playin mother****er we ain't playin hell no" or "move bitch". Those are bad enough but when they are repeated 6-7 times in a row, I get pissed. I get it, you're a badass gangsta toughguy. Now stfu or "I'll bust a cap in yo azz"

I can't stand rap, but I understand that some people do. Some people like to eat steaming fresh sh*t too, but that's up to them also.

What I don't get is why so many white people try- and I do mean try- to act and talk like black rappers. W T F are they thinking? If some pasty, zitty white dude walks past saying "yo shiz, my mo-fo on da flip stiz" etc, I just want to punch some of the dumb out of them. I have even met white people who seem to actually belive they are black, when they are so white you need sunglasses to look at them. And the ones who use the lingo, but can't even say it right so it sounds even worse, like "sup my cuz" turns into "WHAT IS UP MY COUSIN?" ( I don't know why they shout it either).

Don't pretend to be something you are not- especially when it is so obvious to the rest of the world.
 
If you're bothered by someone "acting black", you have problems. I don't believe in "White people acting black", because it isn't. If someone wants to talk with slang, and wear baggy cloths, let them, but that doesn't mean they're acting black. Same for Black people wearing Apolo shirts or somewhat, that doesn't mean they're acting White.


Anyways, if you want to listen to some real rap music, listen to Immortal Technique or Jedi Mind Tricks.

Oh yes, I do have problems. In fact, theres all this itchy spotty leaky stuff coming from, down.........there. It hurts when I touch myself. My grandad tried to lick it off, but now his tonge is blue. Do you have advice for that too?

I would, but my hand has cramp right now, and I can't find my tweezers and magnifying glass anyway. And the toilet is occupied.

Yeah a lot of the stuff people have said on here like The Game and Eminem is pop music. Rap/Hip-hop is my favourite music, then probably dance, then rock... but I only like rap music made by good producers (basically rap with really good instrumentals). Typical example of what I hate is 'The Game - This Is How We Do'. Ironically, typical example of what I like is 'The Game - Put You On The Game', produced by the one and only Timbaland (Timothy Z Mosely) :D

There might be some borderline pop in there but the majority of them have either worked almost entirely with the greatest hiphop producers out there, perform and make good music consistently or usually both.
 
Listen to Immortal Technique and or Jedi Mind Tricks for real rap music.
