So, I decided to get into the rap game myself since I also own FL Studio. This one took me about 2 minutes to make(not my best, just messing around with FL) . This is just to show you that it takes little effort to produce a catchy beat. How long long did yours take??

You saying a beat is made in 4 minutes in Fruity Loops is not an opinion, it is stupidity and to me personally it is offensive. We had an entire discussion about how much effort is put in to a song and then you posted your "opinion". If your opinion was simply "I don't like rap" I wouldn't have said anything, but since you offended me I will get on your ass over it :O.


Again, this is not fully true. Look through some of the lyrics of some of the new rap songs out and you will see most of them have nothing to do with drugs, sex, or pimping. I will admit that drugs and sex are a large part of a lot of rap music, but you have to understand that drugs and sex are large part of our younger culture. And our drug and sex culture is what infulances rap music, not the other way around as some want you to believe. Rap music is pretty much about what people can relate to, not some fantasy world filled with love and happy times. Many people don't like that, but rap music is on a rise and has been for the last decade and I think the more people that start to understand it the more people will actually listen to it.

Ahh well, the thing won't directly connect you to that one beat I picked out, just browse his shit then... he only has 2 good beats IMO. Spanish guitar and sad one.

Wow, awesome job at finding one of my first beats ever made, at the time I posted I said it wasn't that good. :dozey:. I have much newer work since then but will not post it until I have a demo cd made.

Your beat is ok, I won't say its crap as I did like it. The problem is this is nowhere near a quality production. Here are a couple samples, these took a couple weeks each to make with quality equipment.

Compare that to your sample that is just 1 simple loop.

But I guess you are right, high quality recording studios do all their work on fruity loops; the hunders of thousands of dollars of equipment is just there for show. Then they get some idiot in there to talk on the mic for 3 minutes. :dozey: And so many millions of people are so dumb because they pay $18 for that shit. Ok, I'm done discussing this with you. Well I must say your newer beats are actually ok (but still not quality production, IMO). If you mess around enough with your eqipment and programs I'm sure you'll get an awesome beat. As for my "1 loop sample", it only took two minutes, which is the reason why I didn't have a whole lot of change-ups in it. I'm more into a well-defined rhythym, like the old school stuff. The new rap beats by professional artists today can be plain dreadful. I also made a nifty little beat I think you might enjoy(just messing around in FL Studio). Gotta cool ambient feel to it, really more like trip-hop, but I like it.
