The Corpse Bride - 4/10

Not a fan of musicals AT ALL, but I liked Albert Finneys charachter and the visual style of the movie.

Also - Has anyone seen 'Seven Samurai'? I'm thinking about buying it but i can't seem to find it anywhere to rent it first.

Ehm, too late to edit so ahm.

I brought it today. And yes, you definately should buy it. It was just as good as Sanjuro and Yojimbo. A little depressing toward the end but really well made. I just wish they didnt show Toshiro Mifune's backside throughout the movie. That was utterly disturbing.

Ehm, 10/10

There are good movies, there are better movies, and there is Batman Begins, which stands hands and shoulders above those.
9/10

If Batman Begins was a man, it would punch you in the gut, jump kick you, then shit on your face, it's that good.

I'm now in love with the owners of the 4 posts above me.

I love that movie.

Baby Cart: We're going to hell, Diagoro.

9/10

Flightplan - 6.5/10

Decent movie, but:
The moment you find out that the marshal is the bad guy it just goes downhill. They could've done something better with it. The guys entire plan was based on getting her daughter, then hoping she went mental and caused a huge amount of trouble by running around the plane. Getting her daughter was based on her falling asleep too. What if she decided not to sleep? Improbable plan ruined.

The flight crew seemed extremely unhelpful too. I suppose this was done to make you suspect them, but looking back after watching, it just makes them look like idiots.

Requiem for a Dream (finally watched it.) 9.5/10

Superb acting.
Awesome soundtrack.
Excellent story.
Great production altogether.
Watch it. Now.

A History of Violence.

I really don't know what to rate it. A 9 or a full on 10? :(

JFK on DVD - 10 outa 10

A lot of bullshit, but still a really interesting movie.

Aragami

0/10

This movie was even worse than Cube. I was expecting it to be a good old run of the mill Samurai movie but this was disgusting. This guy ate his friend without even knowing it and ugh...........I've never felt more sickened by a movie.

The Postman 8.5/10 i wasn't too excited about this movie, but when i finally rented it, it was actually pretty awesome.

Armageddon

8/10

Movie was awesome but what kind of sick demented person laughs when their fathers dead?

Land of the Dead - 6.75/10

Downfall - 9.5/10

The Longest Day - 10/10. This was like, my 283498448th time watching it. I love it.

I need a film that shows Pegasus Bridge more, though.

Batman Begins - 5/10

Rather dull and uninteresting :p

Oh and I really want to see A History of Violence

For me, not enough happened in it, certain avenues felt a little too unexplored..

It's just one of those things I guess. Watched Sin City again

10/10 :D

Shaun of the Dead - 9.5/10

In the past week or so:

Dune - 7/10
Pros: Great and interesting visual style for its time. Good cast. Bizarre interpretation of Herbert's work.
Cons: Too much exposition. Awkward pacing. Narrative is a bit sluggish.

Blue Velvet - 9/10
Pros: Disturbing and engaging look at a sick and twisted culture beneath the Reagen-esque suburban American hometown. Surreal tone (especially the last scene in the apartment room). Dennis Hopper is ****ing nuts.
Cons: The feel-good ending. It seemed really out of place. Thankfully Lynch has done away with these kinds of resolutions in his later work.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me - 8/10
Pros: The brutality and intensity of the rape and murder of a teenage girl that couldn't be afforded by a primetime television series. As always, the bizarre imagery and events. Fleshes out more of the Twin Peaks backstory.
Cons: Perhaps a bit too strange at times (ie. David Bowie's scene). Quite different from the feeling of the show. Narrative feels chopped.

Serenity - 9/10
Pros: Great chemistry among the cast. Great fight scenes. Classic Whedon dialogue. A phenomenal effort in condensing Firefly's story arc into a feature-length film.
Cons: Sudden killing off of certain characters. Lack of resolution for certain aspects if you're familiar with the show.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker - 6/10
Pros: Mark Hamill as Joker. Darker tone than what's usually expected from the animated series. Good animation.
Cons: This new Batman still sucks. While I guess it's unjust to expect a darker tone for a series predominantly viewed by younger audiences, I don't think it got dark enough.
I would have preferred it if Robin got so twisted and disgruntled over the years that he willingly turned to the Joker.
The anime look of it all doesn't particularly jive with me.

serenity 9 on 10, only downfall is 'Thingys' death( you know who if youve seen it) but on the plus left me wanting more.

Crash (on dvd)
9.1/10

Pretty much every character is or feels like an asshole at some point in time and has their own redemption.
