Red Dead Redemption Official Thread

Oh wow the treasure maps are incredible. It shows you an actual sequence of scenery sketches!

NNNGGG GOD DAMN STOP WATCHING THE STREAM.

I promised no new games until my exams are over. Can I actually keep that promise?

I'm going to scream into a ****ing pillow.

I watched for 5 minutes and saw some awesome stuff. Tuesday can't get here fast enough.

It's no more. Rockstar seems to be cracking down on these.

I really don't get that. It is a great marketing tool, especially so short before release.

So you know how I was all upset over how I would have only a few hours after work to play this before going to New Orleans? Well, God came and granted me plenty of hours to play by having my boss lay me off. God works in mysterious ways. Now I have the entire week!

Huh wat? Why?

I agree. If anything, it shows that they are insecure about the quality of the game.

Maybe they want to maintain that the player receives the highest quality experience when playing the game.

I'm not saying that's what I think, I'm just throwing it out there for discussions sake.

Yeah, that is probably their line of reasoning. It is a bit condescending though and like Stigmata said it makes R* seem insecure about the quality of their game.

Are there always streams for games before they come out? Because I remember watching a GTA4 one for hours, but I've never seen one before or since until now for RDR.

Yeah, RDR got leaked recently(as is obvious by how many people posted pictures of the game in this thread) and so it's made its way onto tracker sites. People with hacked 360s and a capture card can stream it.

They're playing a pirated game(most likely), so I don't see what's so wrong with Rockstar cracking down on this.

Beat it last night HAHA!

Watched some streams for a short while but stopped when they did story missions(don't wanna get spoiled.)

Also, 63, you trollin'?

Okay I'll stop now... I've abused my new knowledge too much.

Just finished paying this shit off and getting it Monday night at midnight! Got a stockpile of crackers and snacks plus plenty of Coca Cola.

Praise Jesus our Lord and Savior!

Jesus that sucks. Sorry to hear that dude.

Nah, its alright. There was a reason we weren't making any money. And that reason was why yesterday was a great day. Sucks to not be making money, but its great to not be working there any more. Wasn't sure how I was going to feel when I got laid off (it was a long time coming) but when it happened it was ****ing liberating haha.

Anyways, back on topic, its so hard to not watch these streams. I watched a few minutes of one of the others. The guy had to chase down a horse that was running away, and then tame it. Im not sure if he just sucked at it, or if it just takes a long time, but he was on the horse trying to keep his balance for almost a full two minutes before the horse calmed down. But everything looked great from what I saw, so I was reassure a bit that the game wouldn't suck after all, and then closed the stream. Media shut-out now fully engaged.

I was watching that one too. I'm hoping he really didn't know what he was doing, because that took some time.

Wow, that actually sounds pretty cool. Reading a book about a guy who breaks in horses for a living and it sounds like quite a precarious job, so it shouldn't be just 1-2-3 go.

sweet sweet animations

Just realized that this was probably taken from a cutscene. Either way. dem exit wounds

^ Does that dude shoot himself when his arm curls up? ****ing awesome.

Not sure. I know in GTAIV, guns would misfire sometimes. It's a possibility.

That's just the Naturalmotion technology in play. It looks damn realistic. If you think those exit wounds are cool, you should see the wounds that show for headshots.

Could be, I think I saw a video where, in a duel, one gets shot and staggers backwards, and as he does he fires down into the dirt. ****ing awesome if someone can accidentally shoot themselves that way.

That sort of happened in GTA IV, except most of the time it was just guns firing as they hit the ground.

I got killed that way once. :|

True Lies stair scene. lol

I haven't seen that movie since... the 90s. >_>

Damn Krynn that sucks. I'll quit my job so we can play the shit out of this game.

**** employment. I'll make cash selling drugs.

Cool. Lets do it!

Just out of curiosity, whats your hiring manager's name and do you have their phone number?

haha yeah, I'll get back to you on that.

Damn it I always miss those streams. Everyone i clicked in this thread got taken down before I saw them.
