Red Dead Redemption Official Thread

I'm gonna pick this up as soon as I get back from Cuba. Does anybody have some free xbox live love they can give me so I can get in the game with you all?
 
So I'm guessing there is no word on the pc version release date right? That sucks, no way am I forking over for a ps3 or 360.
 
No word on the date, but it's R*, so we know we'll get one eventually. You just have to wait.
 
Yes it is R* but it's not the same division of R* that did GTAIV, so we'll see.
 
Okay ty, this multiplayer looks great..i just hope the gun play isnt haf as bad as gta's

Its still being published by Rasterisk like GTA. I still don't think that a pc version is a guaranteed thing, since im not sure how well GTA4 sold on pc. I know they got a lot of shit (and rightfully so) for requiring the Social account and Windows Live. Hopefully they'll just use Steam and Steam Cloud this time around.

I already preordered for the PS3, but if they release on PC, and the game is good, Id probably sell my console version and rebuy on steam.

There's plenty of people who still haven't sent me their information. They'll get around to it I'm sure. Both PSN and XBOX 360 people.

I think that we'll have plenty of people on both consoles to play with.


And Darkside, I really hope there's multiplayer poker too. Will suck ass if there isn't. That thing needs to be netcoded!
 
Nah that sounds about right. I have never changed it anyway and I don't think I gave up a fake one. You can go ahead and add me if you like.
 
I might be getting a ps3 soon so ill throw you my psn at some time. does the ps3 version come out the same time as 360?

Yes, it comes out at the same time.

PS3 will no longer have no games.
 
i never got y people say that..there really isnt that many good games on the 360 that arent ported over anyway.

?? I hope you realize how lucky you are that your country is not a bunch of sore-ass losers that won't let you vacation is one of the most beautiful spots in the world without punishing you severely for it.
 
I really wish they could implement some really difficult challenges for 16 player free roam servers. Like having the American Cavalry hunt you down and you have to evade or fight them... possibly doing both at the same time.

I think some of the funnest moments would be hunkering down with your teammates against impossible odds, and maybe... just maybe... surviving it.
 
Me and a friend used to do that in GTA 4. It was awesome. I remember one time when I died, and I had lost my wanted level. So I returned to where he was hold up with some superfast sportcar that you find at the spawn point. He jumped in and we toke off. Droping granades as we fled the scene. Suddenly the car exploded.
Apparently he held a grenade for too long. He didn't think it whould explode as long as he held it. It became a regular thing to do after that.
Lots of fun memories like that. A lot more to be had with Red dead redemption im sure.

xbox live is much better than PSN..... party system, better chat, better notifications etc
I own both consoles btw... this isn't intended to start a flamewar

if you have a choice, get it for 360!

My xbox doesn't have a ****ing wifi adapter and I'm not spending $80 on one.

Also the PS3 isn't louder than the TV.

I have a choice, but im getting it for ps3. Because 360 has no games. And I'm going to sell mine.
 
GTA IV freemode could have been a lot better if they added challenges or atleast activities to do while running around instead of mindless killing. Hopefully they learned from that and made the multiplayer here even better.

A one team co-op version of Team Mafiya with more elaborate missions would have sufficed instead of pitting half a dozen teams against each other.
 
What would be absolutely awesome, but I know isn't possible... is being able to recruit people to accompany you. Not for your typical gameplay, but for roleplaying among players online.

Say you have a couple guys on Law Enforcement side... they could recruit deputies to follow them around and when they shoot and stuff, unless they do something highly illegal for an officer, the law won't be on their ass. And on the opposite side, other players could recruit outlaws with them, so you could have groups of players and npcs, fighting groups of player outlaws with their outlaw NPC comrades.

So even though there are 16 real players, you could have numerous other AI players to round out and intensify firefights.

Too bad it's probably not possible though.

Considering I have a good pc and every good game for 360 also comes out on the PC... doesn't really make sense. Plus my pc is in my living room now, hooked up to my tv... so there really is no point besides having 360 multiplayer, which I dont care about.

Same situation as me. I had a 360 and never bought any games for it because I always ended up buying them for the PC instead. And I wasn't about to pay for XBL when I hardly used it. Now I have a bluray player and a game console. <3.
 
Read an article on this before - I would totally get it if it was on PC. I'm kind of getting sick of the performance that consoles give.
 
I've been looking forward to this game since this time last year.

I pre ordered it the other day, can't wait.
 
I pre-ordered from Amazon as well. I had a $20 gift card to use so why not? They even gave me another gift card when I made this purchase. It's like a never ending cycle of free gift cards from Amazon. Last time I got one from Bad Company 2.

Release day shipping is only a dollar more than standard shipping. Not too late to switch it up
