Regarding NZ release...

Alright, something for all my fellow New Zealand gamers. I ran into a mate uptown today who's now working at Electronic Boutique, I managed to ask him about the HL2 release over here, he said at the moment they were looking at Christmas, possibly even early next year. This info still isn't 100% but he seemed pretty sure and he's right up there... maybe buying over Steam doesn't sound so bad now eh?

These so called 'Delay' threads will now longer be tolerated at all. As from now, intentionally making one will result in a ban, unless you have substantial evidence (and no, I don't mean something like a games shop or site changing their dates).

Alternatively, people that make topics that request people to stop making delay threads will also be dealt with accordingly.

For anyone that doesn't know, a 'Delay' thread constitutes anything that is related to the delayed release date of Half-Life 2. As said above, if you see a major games shop or site like GAME/Electronics Boutique or Gamestop change their Half-Life 2 release date to something like November 12th, then proceed to post about it here, that will not be tolerated. These sites know nothing more than we do, and therefore are only making estimations on what the release date will be. You do not need to tell us, as it's not true.

However, as also mentioned above; if you do get substantial evidence like a confirmed e-mail from Gabe Newell with evidence, like a screen capture, that would be okay to post.

Also, If I didn't make this clear enough (I'm pretty sure I have, though), threads like "Do you think Half-Life 2 will be delayed?" or "Is the release date September 30th?/<another given date>" are totally out of bounds. Please stop with them.

I think I will wait until Sept 30th(supposed to be worldwide release) before I start getting worried about a Christmas HL2 release.....and if it is the case someone is bound to ship copies in from overseas.

mate, australia comes before New zealand
when we get Hl2 here is OZ, u will get it like a week after.

ETM was a worldwide release i think NZ got it like a week after??

not always. NZ uses different distributors so its luck of the draw. In this case I'd say the difference would be small to none

Only trust stuff you hear wich comes directly from valve... You cant even trust Vivendi who are gonna ship HL². My point being you are all alone you can only trust yourself and ur dog (dogs have good instincts!) You need a sort of valve confirmation, tobe sure about whatuhear.

yeah, i went to the eb at the end of queen street (downtown auckland) on friday and they said hl2 is gonna be in stores 1 december. i don't believe them.

Hi, I'm from NZ too!

I asked the EB store in Lower Hutt Wellington and one guy in there was sticking to the 30th September. The other was not so sure. I pre-ordered a few weeks ago.

I am so looking forward to HL2!!!!!!!!
