I don't know if this has been posted, delete this thread if it has.

I understand that all release date news is speculative at this time,but these folks seem to think they have the skinny on when HL2 will be released. I think the date mentioned is very plausible and could be the first good news we have heard in a while if it is indeed true.

Because I don't believe it will be out in December (if you do then I have a bridge to sell you), and April is a hell of a lot longer than february....

on-topic: the article seems pretty vague to me. I actually stopped caring when HL2 comes out, to tell you the truth. I am really zen about it; it'll come when it comes out.

Sorry Jack, this information is obviously fabricated...Gaming sites are the last people I'd listen to. The people we need to focus on are retailers, and VALVe.

Yep my own guess would be Jan/Feb. Sounds very plausible indeed, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it actually was released on February 24th. But seriously those of you who expect to be out this year are wayyyyyyy too optimistic!

I think you can remember how much I hated them. They won't get away with it now I'm around.

5 years working on it then theres a delay with 6 days to go.....

some Major sh*t had to go realy wrong for that, and no a leaked beta would not cause that.

You mean stomp all over CZ, right? Seriously, VALVe doesn't care about that; CZ is just a testing ground for Steam's content delivery, that's why Hl2 was delayed in the first place(Or, at least I think it was). Unlike the general fanbase, I think VALVe's lying started after they missed the 30th, not before. I think it's been finished, but Steam is holding them back. I also think Hl2 was never meant to be here on the 30th of Sept, that date makes no sense...
And Steam wasn't even equipped for a delivery, around that time. The recent updates, that were recalled, were the ones that would've been in place for the 30th, but they were never implemented. Of course these are things I think, and could I be wrong - but I think it adds up more than "Well, it'll compete will CZ, so it's delayed."

We know they dont know that they know the release date for hl2 because we know that they know that they didnt ask valve hence it is an estimate like every other site has.
Till Valve say something or possibly Vivendi, its a case of when its done, which Doom3 and Duke Nukem Forever!

And I know that you know that I know u did that on purpose and u know that i know that im putting all these knows in to mess ur mind up for revenge for posting this!

I think he might have been sarcastic...meaning you shouldn't trust rumors, becaue they are rarely true. If it was confirmed we would have heard about, from everywhere...even game sites with credibility. Or, he meant what he said, though I don't see how...

The rumour this guy is saying is true is the one that "this thread is in the wrong section." If you read his entire post, you will see what I mean.

I agree that this is ALL speculative,VALVe doesn't even know how to fix the mess they have created...this STEAM creation we've all had to swallow is STILL not ready to go with the current games offered to play through it now...(content servers don't respond with any regularity, the STEAM interface does not respond often, etc......)...until they can square away all the issues with that piece of garbage NOTHING is going to released on time...can't wait to watch this CS:CZ debacle unfold...should be surely interesting!!
