CTF_SECTERRA_RIDGE_V1a

Synopsis: Capture the Flag, Combine vs. Rebels. Includes fully destructible buildings and working artillery. For HL2:DM.

Details: There are four houses on the map, the two with red roofs belong to Team Rebel and the two with black roofs belong to Team Combine. In the basement of the houses closest to each team's bunker resides their flag. Capture the enemy flag and return it to your base to score. First team to 5 wins.

Notes
- Server must be run in Team Deathmatch mode (mp_teamplay 1).
- Artillery is friendly fire regardless of server settings, watch who you're firing at.
- Players can destroy enemy buildings (but not their own) with frag grenades, rpg, smg grenades, or the Slam weapon.
- On the left side of both bunkers is a small weapons locker containing grenades, rpg, revolver, and combine-ball rounds. When a team scores their locker is opened for 60 seconds.

Post your feedback here! My server is running the map 24/7 at 205.234.159.130:27015. I suggest you download the zip file from secterra.com first though, it's much faster than downloading the uncompressed map from the game server.

nevermind, got it working, awesome map! :cheers: did you make this map? if so, please make another!
 
I made the map. I go by Oboros on my server.
I am starting a new map... I may release another version of this one to fix some things though. The new map will have gameplay more in line with the mod im involved in, Secterra. And a larger variety of destructible buildings.

Thanks for your feedback, what did you have to do to make it not crash?
 
This is supposed to be in the HL2DM forum...
 
This is still in alpha i take it as the destruction detail is very poor
excellent idea though
more of the same please in a better context
ie street battles, attacking bunkers
flags being power ups for weapons or day of defeat style where you have to hold a flag capture point
 
It is not in alpha. There are a couple issues (spawn deaths, optimization) I'll be fixing with an update in the next few days, but otherwise it is complete.

The level of destruction detail already taxes the engine and the clients' hardware near to their limits, so I probably won't be able to increase the level of detail there. The next map and the mod I'm working on will have a greater variety of destructible structures however, and it won't rely on CTF gameplay so their placement won't need to be as symmetrical.

More is comming, don't worry. ;) BTW, when you capture a flag you do get 'power ups', the weapons locker in your bunker is opened.
