hi, I have an old computer with a PC133 Systemboard motherboard. I have swapped a lot of the hardware, for slightly newer (and free) parts but when I start the computer up, before the windows logo even appears, I get a blue screen saying that bios are missing.

if I put in the old hardware I don't get that problem. I've heard somebody say to reset my bios, but how do I do that and I don't seem to be able to find a website for this motherboars.

I've switched the graphics card (GeForce 4 to a 9000) and new ram.

Thanks for any help.

lever it out with a screwdriver. be careful not to touch it with your hands, you could leave a salt trail that could wear the battery down quickly.

Pfft. Real hardware pro's use the power of their mind to force the battery out without touching it.

wow, umm, I heard a lot of people complaining about graphic cards bios interfereing, since I changed from NVidia to ATI (I deinstalled all the drivers) could it not be that their bios are somehow interfereing, I don't really feel comfortable with playing with my motherboard, so is there a way to fix the bios problem in the bios menu?)

If you can install a graphics card, you can remove a watch battery.

Your graphics cards shouldn't be causing this type of problem. Just reset your bios and you will be good to go. It isn't that hard. I promise. :) There is no other way to fix the problem you are having.

its a little blue plastic thing that covers two metal spikes. read in your mobo manual on instructions for how to reset it
