Very disappointed with the trailer. What did we see in the trailer? Pretty much nothing other than a game setting. We see bunch of black people going nuts with megaphone and everything, (probably anti-america protest).

Anyway, the trailer seemed political rather than suspense.

The games setting was already known before this mate.. If you don't remember the older trailer..

And I really dont agree that it was an Anti-America Protest, it more looked like they were trying to rebel against a opressive warlord.

But you are right. It looked more like an internal-government protest/rebel, just like any other thousands of protest/rebel in Africa...

Yeah, my guess is the story will be something about an uprising in some remote country/city, and the warlord attempts to control the uprising by 'infecting'em.
But you're right, we should get gameplay, but I think we will probably get to see the first gameplay at TGS, it's just a hunch, but considering the game will supposedly be out in 2008, it's about time we saw actual GAMEPLAY and not just cutscene footage etc.

I think the game setting will allow the most incredible experience. Thank you for not simply sticking us back in another boring zombie infested manor with a crappy story and horrible voice acting.

At least, I believe that this will be the most incredible game yet, with a really good plot, and of course the ultimate graphics and further improved gameplay to the point of enthrallment.


I believe the reasons they don't show gameplay is often that they don't want other developers to take their ideas. There are no software patents, and so if you want your game ideas to be fresh, you need to be the only one with them for at least a good while.

When other developers copy them, they will have to copy them after Resident Evil 5 is due very shortly or already out.



Another reason is of course, the gameplay isn't ready to be shown. It's not complete enough, and would disappoint. Rather than that, they show stuff that is ready, like the footage shown at E3.


I hope this comes to PC, and if it does, I hope it comes much faster than RE4 did. I would really anticipate it, and would love to experience it.

I doubt it VirusType2, but hey, aslong as the story is better than RE4 I'm happy, because RE4 sucked ass.
Btw, you are aware there haven't been RE games set in manors aside from RE1, RE0, right?

From what I've gathered anyway, they will apparently go back more to old-style slow-pace RE with less focus on action and more on puzzles, whilst retaining RE4s control scheme and camera angle, but dont quote me on this, I know one thing, the guy who was in charge of producing RE4 isnt the same guy who's in charge of RE5(Just look up interviews if you dont believe me).

For some reason this trailer made me think of The Serpent and the Rainbow and that freaked the crap out of me. You are right--the setting should be wicked for this kind of game.

I agree Samon, atleast RECV for example had a semi-good plot, but RE4 was like god-awful

Samon he didn't say that RE4 had a really good plot. He feels that RE5 will have a really good plot. I'm not exactly sure about that though but I have a feeling it will at least be better than RE4's(which I agree did really suck). Hopefully as long as Mikami has no involvement.

And I agree with Garg on CV (best RE game IMO). All Resi's have a crap plot (0, 1) especially...but 4 just took the biscuit and ran.

I didn't think 1 or 0 had crap plot, I felt they had quite a good plot, only pisspoor voice acting and the horrid way it was presented in some cases ruined it.

Or by the time you start the game, the villagers may have "already" been infected like in RE4, or they just doesn't know they've been infected... yet.

Keep in mind the guy in charge of RE5 is not the guy who made RE4, but actually one of the heads behind RE1(iirc), and he's talked about reintroducing SLOW zombies(YAY)!

I plan to get a Wii, and borrow all my oldest brothers kids games, like one at a time. He's got like 10 games including Twilight Princess, etc.

I also Plan to get an Xbox 360. My youngest brother has lots of 360 games I could borrow as well, like gears of war.

They don't know about my plans to borrow games yet.

I miss zombies I wish they did a 28 Days Later style zombie Resident Evil, mixed with the style of Resident Evil 4. Don't get me wrong I loved Resident Evil 4, the game was amazing. But I like the style and fear of the older ones

The very first RE5 footage reminded me of 28 days later - I think that's what they're going for. Guys chasing you down alleys with nasty weapons.

Warbie, one of the producers on RE5 confirmed that they'll go back more to the old ways, apparently also some form of 'slow' zombies, its important to remember RE5 isnt being done by the same team as RE4, atleast not for the most part.
