brilliant, man. i dunno why, but the word thwart seems kinda funny when you imagine him saying it. Maybe i'm just odd...
 
Does seem like silly dialogue...in a good, OTT sixties superhero comic kinda way. ;)

Ok I'm confused, just WHICH is this comic's thread? Only getting one in the showcase section, can't have one of each.
 
Great drawings. I think your perspectives are amazing, although you could use a little work on your figure drawngs. How long does it take you to draw a page?

Takes me about half an hour to an hour to draw a page, but then again i never seem to notice time when i'm drawing so it could be double that. And yes, i know my character proportion nis a little dodgy- i'm hoping that by doing this comic it will get better with practice. I'm going to do another page soon- but recently i've been a little tied up with things. Might do one today.

THIS is the comic thread... the only other one i made was just a couple of concept designs. I was origonally going to have 5 threads (for the 5 chapters), but that's a little hefty so i'm just going to post in here with bold text when the comic is entering a new chapter :laugh:

and you really think this is showcase quality? i'm honoured :D
 
The reason it's cheesy is because i can never be bothered to do proper speech bubbles... when i'm doing the comic in my mind i usually just think <insert 2 sentence speech bubble with shining courage>, then when i get round to the speech i can never be bothered so i just write whatever comes into my mind. They were done on MSpaint anyway, so it's easily changed.

Don't colour it! It looks awsome when it is black and white...

Maybe Suicide should do a sample of un-coloured vs coloured like the blur vs non-blur and see if it looks right.
 
If you colour a black-and-white comic you inevitably change the style completely, and often not for the better. But yeah, a comparison might be a good idea- presuming he has the time and the inclination ;)
 
Well the thing is i can't colour for my life... :D

the only way i could colour it properly would be to do it in photoshop (20 days left of my trial!) and that would take bloody ages.

Oh and page has been delayed due to art contest!
 
Use PS colour, it'll look great
Do it on a seperate layer
 
hehe, thanks :D you don't know the half of whats gonna happen... but just to say, there are going to be 5 chapters for 5 locations :P and the mysterious woman on the front page will re-appear... and oohh! you get to hear the word "thwarted" more!!! hehe, only joking :D
 
Heheh, I know people keep saying it but it really does feel like you drew something serious and then added 60s Batman-style tongue-in-cheek dialogue :laugh: I love it!

Hehehehehe, it makes me laugh how some guy who's been shot and is bleeding from around the chest area says something so profound as, "I'll hold it off..now get going...We're Counting On You" you can just imagine that as soon as the dude leaves he just goes "HUuugh Bleh" and falls to the floor dead :P

(MAKE THE OTHER DYING RESISTANCE MEMBER TALK LIKE SEAN CONNERY!!!!) :P
 
jolly good chaps. I'll get dilly daddling on the next chapter in a jiffy, i just need to dilly ho for my todds-waddle to arrive. Then i'll be spiffing fine and ready to join up snippity snip!

*holds wound, points his finger in the air, tries to make another statement but nothing comes out of his mouth, then falls vertically to the ground with a thud*
