Rubicon - The best conspiracy thriller you thought was going nowhere.

Not surprising at all, considering how dumb networks are with their expectations of show performances. Makes even less sense, since I doubt it was very expensive produce, at least in comparison to their other shows. They really should have expected this sort of performance in the first season, since it definitely seems like a show that needs time to build a decent fanbase.

They waited to see how The Walking Dead did before canceling Rubicon. It was just a matter of choosing the most popular show.

I honestly never expected Rubicon to be renewed as it never stood a chance against The Walking Dead, as there was already a devoted fanbase of the comic looking forward to it, not to mention the big names attached to it (Frank Darabont, Robert Kirkman) and the massive marketing campaign.

Rubicon on the other hand was a very slow niche series which most people gave up on during the 2nd or 3rd episode.

Despite the cancelation and the cliffhanger-ish ending, I still think it's worth watching as you can safely guess how it ends. Despite the slow setup during which you may get bored (the entire first half of the season) it does provide very satisfying and intense payoff, and I definitely do not regret sticking with it until the end.

Well that really blows. I want my 13 hours of my life back.

It reminds me of the conspiracy storylines of the X-files. I didn't like those either.
