Anybody running cs:source with a Radeon 9800 SE(Its a 9800pro with 4 disabled pipelines and a much smaller cooling fan-like a 9600 pro). If so, how's the performance? Just wondering if i should upgrade immediatley, or if im safe running as is(maybe with a bit of overclocking).

i got a 9800 pro and i have all the graphics maxed so it looks almost life like in some places and it still runs smooth as butter

If you want to run source flawlessly with all max graphics I suggest you get one of the newer ATI cards. Anything with a 16 bit pipeline will work without a hiccup.

My 9800pro runs the game fine with 2x AA and 8x AF on 1152x864. Chaops...saying "Anything with a 16 bit pipleline will work..." is pretty..not well informed.

yeah, but the SE in 9800SE stands for "Slow Edition", so the card is pretty much a 9600pro.(9800 - 8pipelines, 9600- 4pipelines) Seen any specs for the 9600's?
