must...resist...watching. NO! DAMN YOU!

Oh well it was worth it

thank you for the ending find.. I probably won't be playing STALKER as often enough to beat it anytime soon.

Yeah, in 6 and 7 you learn about the secret of the Monolith, and about who you are.

I liked the rich ending the best, though I have no idea what's going on.

I understand what's going on, although I don't see the irony.

Most of them have some..."i want immortality' and then he becomes a statue.

I got the "I wanna be rich ending", so dissapointed :( .

But wtf is the C-Consciousness, and how do you get those endings?

Can someone explain the story and such? The crashes after the junkyard level for me :(

Edit: I think the 'rich' ending has to do with the fact that greed is a 'deadly' sin, maybe? So the wish-granter makes him believe that these pieces of the structure are gold pieces, even though he's lavishing himself with the same things that are going to cause the structure to collapse on top of him.

The blind ending makes no sense, he asked for the zone to disappear, not to be ****ing blind, I can see how the rest of the endings are the wish granter playing with his words, but the blind one is just "LOL YOU BE BLIND NOW KTHX"

Pretty silly, yes. But he cant see to zone anymore, so it kind of disappeared to him...
Why didn't the fool ask who he was or where strelok is or something more relevant. :frown:

Well two things could have happened:
1.) The zone actually did disappear and everything was a-okay, and he went blind just because that's how life goes.

2.) The zone is still there, but to him it did disappear since he went blind.

That's how I see it at least.

You are strelok....

He didn't go blind, his brain was fried like all the other Zombies you see wandering about. Like the Doctor tells you back in Strelok's hiding place noone who makes it to the Wishgranter makes it back so all the Wishgranter endings are bad. It's just a illusion like all the other psychotropic effects the C-Consciousness are generating. The only ending that actually ends the Zone is the one where you destroy the C-Consciousness.

is there a site, or can someone explain the entire story perhaps? since the patch makes my saved game unplayable, and the fact that the game is so damned scary, i dont think i want to bother playing to end

sooo are u strelok then but just dont know it? that would kinda put everything together to make sense. ya know how it said "kill strelok" as a task in ur pda? i think a good ending would be to wish that strelok died, then the thing kills you

Well you meant to find out your STRELOK before you get anywhere near the damned thing. Find the guide, goto the hideout again, have the Doc tell you who you are.

Dink.

I got the "I want... to be rich!" ending. Well, duh, if I don't have anything to spend the money on, I have it with me until I need it. That doesn't mean I'm greedy o_O

Yeah the patch fixes the money issue.

What do you mean? I was playing with the game patched BTW.

BTW I loaded the game at the point before going into the room with the Wishmaker and went to the secret room instead and got the 2 real endings. It was nice to get some answers (in the conversation with Conciousness that is).

I just watched all of them (except the last 2, i want to get those myself), and have no idea wtf the deal is with the "ruling the world" one, you become part of the thing or something? and what about the mankind must be controlled one? did it just detroy mankind?

Yes and yes. Also, if you don't get the implication, the monolith is planning on ruling the world. So, if you become a part of it, you'll rule the world!

Nice Tread, thx for the collection.

I had #2, #6 and #7 before finding this thread. And i think #7 is the real, or my favorite one.

As far as I understood of the Story mechanics, there are 2 more or less parallel story lines, the "get to the NPP" and "find Stelok". If you completed the NPP line you can get the first 5 endings, and if you completed the Strelok line, you 'll get either #6, or you can even play for about half an hour longer and finally reach #7.

I must say I was quite confused after I chose not to join the C-con(#6), cause you were put outside the NPP again without orders and an idea what to do next. But the rest was something like linear and the way is to be found more or less easily.
The only thing I really missed was an endfight or something like that. You just kinda stumble in the end #7.
I hoped for something like a free pointless roaming, after the finish of the storyline, like in freelancer, but that would have been difficult to mix with the "end the zone" thing...

It must be about the fact that you cannot be superman and you cannot change the world only by a simple wish. So the wishmaker gives you exactly what you asked: the zone disapperas because you cannot see it again. Exactly in this ending I finished the game (crap). This ending reminds me the x-files episode "Je souhaite", with that genie and those f.....g wishes. Anyway, does anyone some map codes in order to return and finish the game in another way?

There's like three different ways to get endings - you visit the Monolith and depending on your condition, you'll get a different ending, if you ignore the Monolith task you can go to a different room and get the C-Consciousness ending and if you make a certain decision there, you continue on through a fun teleport level (that you don't get unless you take this route) to get another ending.

If the game crashes for you, here's a possible fix that worked for me. The game would invariably crash if I tried to save a game in Pripyat, entered Chernobyl from Pripyat or otherwise tried to progress in the game at that point. I really wanted to see what all the weapons looked like and how they worked so I installed a trader mod that lets the traders sell you every possible weapon, and this fixed the bug! I could now save in Pripyat and then entered Chernobyl (now armed fit to kill with the best weapons) and completed the game. If you save anywhere that you make a decision, you can see at least three endings. To see the different Monolith endings, you have to be in a different state when you ask for your wish. You don't get to choose, you just wish, and depending on if you're rich, have killed certain people, etc., will determine what you ask.

Because I played for so long before giving in and installing the trader mod, I had a lot of money. I bought every single type of suit and weapon that I had been missing from my previous 'collection' and still had over a billion rubles leftover.

Note: some of the weapons/suits that are available seem like they are specific to this mod (as in, they aren't otherwise available). Can anyone confirm or deny this? There's a modified exoskeleton and Bullpup grenade launcher and I don't think those are available in the game?

Actually the ending does make sense, if you bothered to understand the story and explanations of the green hologram dude. He says some BS about c-consciousness being something to control the zone's spread using ppls brains or someshat and the real ending is u being STFUNOOBCAEK and shoot all the mofos in the green pods, ending the control/deception to the pplz and you go outside and its a lovely day. Is it really though? The zone will spread possibley so who knows...I'm hoping there's room for an expansion.

Multiple endings? Deus Ex.

Fixed.

What's wrong with multiple endings? Must every game be like HL2 where you are told exactly where to go, what to do and how things end? I prefer my games to be more free thinking, but then that's the kind of person I am I guess.

Anyone else find it odd that this is the #1 result on google for "stalker endings"?

For the record, Wikipedia has a pretty good summary of the storyline if that's what you're after.

I've gotten 2, 6 and 7.

I like the immortality one the best, just because the irony is probably the best.

The blind ending makes no sense, he asked for the zone to disappear, not to be ****ing blind, I can see how the rest of the endings are the wish granter playing with his words, but the blind one is just "LOL YOU BE BLIND NOW KTHX"

well he didnt say i want the zone to not excist anymore, and not gunna be seeing anything else even if he had his sight because he is still trapped in the zone.

I think the five "false" endings are are called that because the wish granter is not actually there.

If you enter the secret lab the five blue thingies you have to destroy are around a hologram of the wish granter, which indicated to me anyway that the thing itself was either a hologram or a hallucination fabricated by their weird mind-control antennae.

That the wish granter is not real at least you are told earlier in the game, so all of those endings are just BS in strelok's head, except i suppose for the getting crushed by falling girders in the "rich" ending.

this is kind of offtopic but I got a problem whti stalker

when loading the level of the lab of the brain scorcher the game seens to crash and exit to windows

and hint?

Nice post. Just beat the game and i got endings 6, 7 and 2. Just watched the videos for the rest, i just wish you can watch the endings in HQ without beating that game again. Its a crazy long game and i don't think i can do it for the other endings. Great game really, just a few bugs with the mission's. didn't really bother me.
