Shit, I beat the game and didn't even realize it. I was playing the wish granter mission and then the credits began to roll. I will have to go back to an old save and do other missions.

Isn't that the whole point of a game? To have fun?

And it's just a mod dude. Happens all the time.

Devs introduce something some players don't like, so said players mod the game and enjoy it how they want, while the rest of the community enjoys the game as is.

well that doesn't make sense with my partial-patching statement. Since in the initial release suits did not decay, but you still took damage from bullets. Then they patched it and suits decayed and you still took damage from bullets.

I'm just keeping part of the game the way it was initially designed. :cheers:
 
hi does anyone know if you can upgrade your weapons cus i really want a silencer on my machine gun and maybe something to stop the recoil as much and other things like that
 
you find that stuff laying around.

I just beat the game and got the REAL ending...it was kinda cool seeing that much more of the game. I didn't even find the door decoder the first time.

There are silencers, grenade launchers, and scopes.

That's pretty much it rly :\

Same - I didn't meet with the guide in Cordon.

I went all the way back to a Research Institute save point I had, which is pretty far back. I'm on track now, just having got the grenade launcher for the duty people, and I'm probably going to go back and do the duty invasion on freedom again.

I completely skipped the "duty boss" missions in the bar because I never tried talking to the guys guarding it. They always told me to screw off so I just never messed with them, aside from saving and then killing them all for fun :D

Then when I talked to them they let me through, and I did the missions.
 
Can somone tell me - I have arrived in the Garbage area, shot quite a few bandits but I still have a really crap jacket that doesnt protect me well from radiation.
For instance i am coming across numerous routes that are too radioactive for me to get through. Should I have a proper radiation jacket by now?

No. You'll find that some of those radiation areas are the edge of the map that the devs don't want you going past. Just follow the story and you'll get a decent rad suit in time.
 
I played it again through stalker mode (before was novice), I don't know whether its just experience but it seemed a lot easier, in novice I just couldn't stand for 1 second without getting instantly killed by those aimbot zombies.

How is it that zombies are 20 times harder to kill than military guys?
 
lol rly. But I did a lot better the 2nd time around. Maybe I just started shooting their heads..that definitely beats 43849 shots to the chest, same for the snork bastards. Also I was using that shitty 2 shot shotty the first time; got the 6 round one for the 2nd run, that did the snorks in a whole lot faster.

they kill me very fast

you mean in that bandit hideout in the beginning of the game? just let your teamates do the dirty work ..when one is killed pick up his shot gun, find a nice corner and wait for them to come to you ...the pistol is useless you need a real gun ...also there is one of the best armors in the very first village hidden on the roof ..here is how to get it:


Get to the top of the roof of that first house by not going into the attic opening. You can "stand" on the ledge of the masonary wall and hug the house to get atop the roof ......

I killed them all with the pistol...just got for the headshot, although the accuracy sucks, a bit of close distance would be nice, it's ok to die a couple times bum rushing, best tactic is to sniper them from behind the door (which you have to get to without them noticing).

Have you read any walkthroughs?

Because there's a point in the game where if you go left it will end in the game in like 5 minutes, and if you go right you get another hour of gameplay or so.

one questiong are those porks and dogs very dangerous?

how dangerous is to explore the place?
cuz honestly I dont feel to much desire to go around looking at the fauna

I hope this want spoil anything for you (although, I don't see how it could), but once you get into Chernobyl you'll climb a stair case that's about 4 floors tall, and when you get to the top you can go left or right there. That's the point I'm talking about.
 
Man I caved and bought this today and I have to say, shitty interface aside it's great. Very atmospheric. It lacks the set pieces of HL2 for sure, but with the dynamic AI of the beasties as well as the anomaly's everywhere it's good stuff.

In the power plant he means and you can go either way and loop around. Make sure you've done the guide quest and spoken to Doc before going into Pripayat. You need to know about the stash hidden in an apartment building, it's on the second floor and theres a door you have to open, confused me until press f came up.

The porks? (Flesh? Boar? Pseudodog?)
Dogs: no problem, but don't get bombarded by more than three at once, or you're in a world of hurt. If you ruin most of a pack, the last one or two will leave.

Flesh: Target practice, but aim for the face to save ammo.

Boar: Single shots to the head when they charge will usually drop them no problem. They'll wreck you quick if they actually get close enough to bite/scratch.

Pseudodog: Don't screw around with these guys - they're fast, do a lot of damage, can take a beating, and don't always charge straight at you for an easy hit. If they do, you know the drill. If you hear one growling and your sight meter maxes out but you don't see the critter: run.

One of the funnest things in the game in my opinion is to take on these wild animal packs Smash TV-style.
 
I am in part where I have to find someone called mole

but the way is swarmed by bandits

and I dont have much ammo
 
man i need to get back into stalker, i stopped playing after it continually crashed on me, i might install the patch and start over again soon...
