Which do you think is better and why? I've had Saint's Row 2 for a few weeks and it's pretty cool so far. I've heard bad things about the PC version of SR2 but that's probably because those who complained were trying to run the game on crappy settings with crappy hardware.

Fortunately the 360 version doesn't seem to have the same problems related to the PC version, but there are still alot of bugs nonetheless albeit very minor ones and not gamebreaking.

Now what about JC 2? Never played the first one so I don't what to expect. Should I get the PC or 360 version?

P.S. If compared to GTA IV and it's expansions, I'd have to say SR2 is better imo, but that's a different discussion altogether.

JC2. Because it's an awesome game. I clocked over 60 hours now.

Only played SR2 for a couple of hours because it ran like shit on my PC and the gameplay was very wonky imo.

Saint's Row 2 was fun for a couple of weeks but the combat and driving physics had no subtlety or depth as opposed to GTA4 which I still pump a good few hours into every month.

As for Just Cause 2, I'm not sure why you are comparing it to SR2, they are both very different games (admittedly within the same genre). JC2 has so far proved to be quite a Marmite game, some people love it, some hate it, so I can only recommend downloading the demo from XBox Live and seeing what you think.

Ya, I figured JC 2 and SR 2 were almost entirely different sub-genres of the sandbox type games, but which one was more fun overall?

About the driving physics, yeah GTA IV's were better to an extent, especially the vehicle damage physics. If only GTA IV had a destruction derby.
I also preferred the more corny approach of SR 2. GTA IV took itself a little too seriously most of the time. I didn't care for GTA IV's realistic gangster drama story (almost)

Also, being a Red Faction fan, the inclusion of the Ultor corporation that suggested that the SR series takes place in the same universe as RF was just awesome imo. The time difference between the two game's settings is obviously different though.

SR2 is fun in the way GTA isnt. Theres some seriously wacky stuff to do.

But JC2 rules it out completely when it comes to fun. Theres so much to see and do, its just in a different league.

If youve been set on either one, just get it. You wont be too dissapointed.

But get JC2.

Get JC2...

Add a friend and SR2 is the winner.

JC2 has an unofficial PC co op mod. It sucks, but hell.

So yeah, JC2. And I only played the demo.

Saints Row 2 has an awesome character creator... it has shitty vehicle physics which I couldn't get in to. I mean it wasn't just arcadey bad, it was 'holy shit arcade racers are simulators compared to this' bad.

Just Cause 2 is a fantastic fun game, even if it is repetitive. Rent it.

they both blow chunks but if you absolutely want to waste your money on a crap game go for just cause 2.

You guys should all be game reviewers, I swear.

SR2 on PC was a mess, and it isn't becuase I don't have a system to run it. Think worse performance than GTA IV, even with the new performance crippling patch and your getting the idea. I also have SR2 on the 360 and I hated how stupid it was. People like it becuase it has missions resembling the stupider ones of GTA III or Vice City but IMO it just doesn't have the style those game had. It's a half arsed GTA clone at best.
Just Cuase 2 on the other hand is fantastic. A massive world for you to make your own fun in. Yes it's stupid, but it has the style and mechanics to pull this off. The grapple system works like a charm as does the parachuting and hijacking of vehicles. Just think of doing the missions as a way to earn more chaos for the black market and you won't be disappointed.

I wish proper game reviews ended with comments like ****ING SHAT.

I loved SR2 (far more than GTA4). Great, silly, fun. Doesn't try to be something it's not. I also played it on computer with no trouble. I haven't played JC2 though, because it would run like poo on my PC.

Hasn't it been like two months?

SR2 on the PC is absolutely dreadful port-wise. Considering how dated it looks I'm amazed it runs so poorly - most likely they spent 5 minutes optimizing the bloody thing.
Still it's a very fun game if you have a friend to play with in co-op. Best thing about it is that's there are no limits when playing co-op so both of you can do missions together - even the main story line.

I've only played the demo of JC2 on PS3. It was fun apart from the awful vehicles and terrible voice acting.

They must have made a ton of changes to it since because I've had zero problems. The only thing is I can never find anyone in MP.

That said, I still don't understand the love for JC2.

Considering how people were less generous to the PC version compared to the consoles you'll probably gonna have some trouble finding people online. Still, SR2 needs to be played together with a friend, that's were the game really shines. Playing with a stranger is rarely any fun especially in team based games were both of you work together.

Get Just Cause 2 on pc. Like the poll says, its a more fun game. You should get the pc version (assuming you have hardware with enough balls) so that you can use the bolopatch mod and get unlimited ropes with infinite strength. It opens up a whole slew of awesome things you can do that the consoles simply cannot.

JC2 has the worst voice acting ever, and the storyline as well as story telling is some of the worst in gaming.

Every mission linked to the plot consists of someone on the back of a jeep/pickup driving up to you, talking to you from the tailgate, then driving off. Then you go blow some stuff up and take control of an area, rinse and repeat.

Its shocking.

But when youve just grappling hooked some guy, attached him to the wing of a jet, jumped into the jet, taken off, flown toward a mountain, stunt jumped onto the jet's roof and then parachuting off at the last second to see and hear the jet blow up below you with the guy still attached...you just dont care.

Its too much fun.

I'm hearing alot about the bungie cord thing and parachute. Is it really that awesome?

Also, how big is the game world itself in comparison to other sandbox type games?

Also, I'm upgrading to a quad-core CPU, 4 gigs of RAM, and a Nvidia 9800 GTX. Is that enough? :p

Reinforcing this.

I think you're missing the point. Oh wait, you're Dynasty.

I think I was confused because the general consensus I saw was positive, but I didn't see that the two posts before yours weren't.

This isn't the first time I've noticed it. It seems pretty much the same story for every game. Super Hype to Meh in just 2 months!

Honestly, I haven't been keeping track of who is saying what. So to be fair, it might not really be the case.

Its ok, I make a lot of assumptions based on 'facts' that I perceive to be true also.

Having played both, Just Cause 2 absolutely hands down. Although SR2 is great for adding such wacky things to an urban sandbox, the setting PALES in comparrison to what I think is one of the best open worlds in any game to date. The diversity of the landscape and the vivid colours make it a joy to visit time and time again. In addition, there are lots of little things in JC2 that were just added to make the game seem more like an action movie even if they arent realistic (cars blowing up when you jump out of them for the hell of it, hanging onto the wing of a jet, etc...). They add a lot to the experience, and spice up a game that otherwise has a predictable but enjoyable story, simplistic shooting, and horrendous voice acting.

Actually I think I reinforced the majority opinion of the game. Story sucks, but you dont care that it sucks as the game is so much fun.

But if you still feel that way then, well, Ive got a reputation to uphold so I would'nt want to dissapoint.

The story would suck if it weren't for Ultor being involved. That's only the part I like about it so far being a RF fan and all.
