So, I just got hold of some Savlia Divinorum. Any advise from our HL2.net drug guru's to prepare me for the ride?

Oh yeah, I was planning on taking it with a trip sitter in case you were wondering.

What type did you get Atomic? Plain leaf, 10x?
 
yea since a NSAID, a histamine antagonist and a psychoactive substance are so closely related...

Read up first and make an informed decision but any drug that produces an ALOC doesn't get my approval. It's up to you though.
 
That shit sucks.
Seriously, you get like 15 minute high after smoking a normal sized joint.
Not worth the amount of money you pay for it at all.

So, I hope you didn't pay for it and someone just gave it to you, otherwise you just got ripped off.

All I know is the strain I tried... don't even know what kind it was, sucked.
The 15 minutes of high that you get IS damn intense, but it's still not worth the money.

But then again, everybody's experience is different.

I just got the beginners pack, I don't really want to take the full blown thing just yet.

@xlucidx a lot of people report it doesn't do anything for them. Some people find taking it a couple of other times works, or getting a different strain. Whatever.

xlucidx sounds like you smoked plain leaf, trust me it gets much more powerful. extract trips done right are one of the most intense psychedelic experiences known to man, "breakthrough" doses.

My advice? Stay away from it. I dislike it and it's very weird and potentially mind-numbingly primally terrifying. If you haven't done other drugs BE CAREFUL. Psychedelics are a VERY intense and often unexpectedly extremely weird thing for people who havent ever done one, and Salvia is a TERRIBLE one to start with.

If you are dead set on doing it though read some Erowid.org trip reports and information to get an idea of what you're getting yourself into. Salvia is NOT a "fun" drug and it's not to be taken lightly AT ALL.
 
I have done mushrooms once Ennui, though I doubt that will prepare me :D Yeah I have been reading erowid (and other) reports on it, it sounds...intense. As terrifying as it might be, I understand it doesn't last very long?

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I don't think any drug like that should be taken lightly.
 
I think Ennui was cautioning you because a lot of people think the legal status of Salvia indicates that it's some how more safe or less intense than other psychoactives, which is quite obviously not true. But of course drug laws are some of the most archaic and pathetic things ever conceived.
 
Acid > Salvia

On salvia I had much more intense trips, but they only last about 3 mins so I would usually not bother.

Yeah. And I imagine it didn't become popular because, as Dalamari says, acid was simply better than salvia, possibly just a more pleasurable (even though not as mindbending) experience. There are some pretty powerful legal hallucinogens but they usually make you feel like shit (nausea, + they taste rank). Now that acid is so rare (relative to past times), everybody seems to be exploring these less popular highs.

I admit I've not really had much experience with these drugs other than baby woodrose, but this is what I've gathered off a few of my friends.

Salvia isn't worth it to me, as well as everyone else i have ever met. The trip is too short, and it costs too much (for me at least, i'm poor!). I'd rather buy some weed or shrooms.

The fact that it doesn't last very long is meaningless. Subjective time perception is completely annihilated by these sorts of drugs, there are dozens of trip reports about people smoking Salvia and having trips that last 5 minutes in reality but they feel like it was 12 hours. Or years. Also, nothing can prepare you for salvia. Just have a sitter and hope for the best.

All of them are fake, they're satire more or less. He's making fun of the reactionary lawmaking group trying to illegalize salvia (which will happen soon) because "people could drive on it and be dangerous etc" whereas as he demonstrates that is nearly impossible.

It has nothing to do with popularity - salvia divinorium is a very new drug, it was only discovered by the first world a decade or two ago. Before that only the South American natives using it traditionally knew anything about it. It's legal because nobody knew about it before the early 90s for the most part and it's not chemically similar to ANY other drug so it's not automatically illegal. Now that it's prevalent though it is fast on its way to being scheduled, so now's the time to try it.

Seriously, grow up. You clicked a thread about Salvia, save us the public service announcement. I hope you realize that you're severely limiting your ability to become a social creature if you're closing yourself off anyone who has even tried an illegal drug and labeling them as "druggies".

I'm to cheap and content to use drugs, but by all means go for it!
 
These threads always die, it doesn't matter if the subject in question is legal or not.

Munro cries about it sometimes which is fair enough, it's his forum. Whenever a thread comes up about drugs, or drug related subjects, wars will always spark up between the tards about the dangers of drugs and how drug users are all losers and oh no I've lost interest.

Just debate as furiously as you can before it gets locked.
 
I'm not trying to debate about how it's stupid. It's obvious it has some sort of merit. I was only giving my two cents

No, I'm not. Salvia is an incredibly powerful psychedelic/dissociative drug.
