Sarah Pailin ABC interview

At least Cheney has a chance to drop dead.

Unsurprisingly, she can't properly pronounce 'Ahmadinejad'.

Oh my god everything she says is so silly.

"Post-9/11 world".

I heard this on the Glenn Beck show via radio on my way back home. Holy crap.

holy christ when palin farts will you put it on the net?
[/sarcasm]

She's like a two-bit opinion commentator on Fox News. That's what she reminds me of. D:

She dodged nearly every damn question and she doesn't know how to just say YES or NO.

Whahaha, McCain actually used the "she is close to Russia" as an argument? I thought that was an inane comment of a Fox News "journalist".

Is anyone else concerned she didn't know what the Bush Doctrine is? I'm in Australia, and even I know what it is!

"I believe that America has to exercise all options in order to stop all terrorists who are hellbent on destroying America." Has she ever considered she might be the reason why the terrorists want to destroy America?

Mainly the fact that she doesn't "blink". Rational people blink. Blinking is a sign of wisdom, of contemplation, and it's a quality she doesn't seem to have. A party puppet full of "the American Spirit".

And don't call me Charlie, or I shall call you Charlie.

Why'z raz with a santa hat, wasn't it the backward facing cow?

I'm glad "Charlie" didn't interview McCain, or he might have had war flashbacks and tried to raise his arms.

I think Sarah Palin is still new enough to the Federal Government that she is trying to get her "sea legs" in regards to the Federal Government and its policies. She may have about the same amount of time in politics as Barack Obama, but Barack has spent his time on the National level instead of the state level as Palin. He has had time to prepare his beliefs and ideas before being shoved out into the nation spotlight. Sarah Palin did not have the luxury to do so.

I'm personally biased with this upcoming election, but if McCain/Palin win, I do hope that Palin gets her own set of ideas and beliefs to challenge McCain.

She seems to have plenty of (stone age) ideas, unfortunately.

I simply cannot ever respect Palin as a Vice Presidential candidate considering not long at all before she was picked, she was asked about the Vice President job and she basically said no, she's not up for it, and asked what the vice president even does. And yet just mere months later(or less) she is suddenly capable and knows everything a VP does! And she might know what a VP does now, considering she's getting drilled by McCain's team so she doesn't look like a complete mind blank.

Obama on the other hand, people say he's not experienced enough(I disagree and also feel experience isn't everything as experienced people make poor presidents. Bush was a Governor of Texas, the next largest state and far more populated than Alaska, and he was a Governor longer than she was. But Obama see, knows entirely what it means to be President, and he's fully prepared to take that seat, and has been WORKING towards it for a long time now.

Worst case scenario the Republicans win in another of those 51/49 'elections' everyone loves so much, McCain pops his clogs shortly afterwards and baby momma runs the US into the ground even more, thus ensuring even the media can't put a spin on the devastation for the following election. :dozey:

"Anyone who wants power shouldn't be allowed to get it."

What an utterly inane remark. The whole 'power corrupts' thing is such a knee jerk pointless reaction. There always needs to be someone in charge, and someone running things. I'd rather have someone who wants to be doing the job, rather than some one who doesn't. What is the bigger concern for any political system (esp in the US) is the extent to which self interest comes into that actual governance. When most of your politicians have direct ties to large Oil, Pharmaceutical and weapons manufacturers then you have a genuine problem, over whether their interests are devoid of motives beyond that of the public good. If you put in place strong measures to curtail such engagements then you might get somewhere.

This train of thought irritates me to no end. I do not care about how hard she is trying or how it is not quite fair because Obama had more time. This is not high school, no one gives a shit what your excuse is for not knowing something. I want the best people possible to be up front, not some one who is trying hard.

This 'average person leading' idea needs to be taken out back and shot. I can't think of anything remotely competitive where this shit would be acceptable.

We don't send business majors with a GPA of 2.5 to the moon as astronauts, we don't let cowards command armies or morons be doctors, and we should not accept this completely mediocre, if not outright bad, pick of a vice president because she didn't have time to get her 'sea legs'. There is no doubt in my mind that there are others FAR more qualified than this woman.

OMG. I suffered through the whole video and almost laughed a couple times. I'll just say, I wouldn't even let her teach kindergarten. WOW, she can't even give a simple straight answer. It's like if you ask her "Is the sky blue?" she will say "but the rainbow is red, orange, yellow...etc.. If she actually gets into office, I will laugh my ass off (as I live in Canada....but I don't like our leaders either...at least they can give an answer without running around it 100 times).

That was painful to watch.

If there's any #1 qualification for a VP out there, it should be whether or not the person's ready to be president.

If she ran for President on that record with those responses, I wouldn't vote for her. I mean, yeah, a popular argument is that Obama's been in politics for just as long. Well, the difference is, we actually have an idea as far as what his national and global aspirations are. And if you argue that Palin has more experience than Obama because she's run a government, than the same argument goes for McCain's 20+ year tenure in the Senate. Ironically, she has the most experience if that's your argument.

Yeah, I DVRed every bit of Gibson's talk with her on all of the shows and it never got any better. It was laughable and horrifying at the same time. She would make a horrible VP and a MUCH WORSE P.

I'm loving the doubletalk that's going on with the McCain campaign around her. Touting her as a tough reformist and female role model with nothing to hide, all the while shielding her from criminal investigations and interviews because... well, gosh, all those people are just so mean.

This is supposed to be an example of a responsible, tough-hided potential president?

That bloody bi**h makes me vomit. Hockey mom fights terrorism. God bless America!

"..and you can actually see Russia from land, here in Alaska!"

Lol! Just.. lol!

The combative tone she takes in answering every question, compensating with plain old defiance and spikiness, shows how little confidence she has in herself, deep down, in this capacity. The ignorant American soccermom electorate will probably interpret that as 'pluckiness' but it's a clear sign of an inferior intellect, or someone just completely out of their depth. This simple interview - the first true access the media got to her - comes across like a job interview where the candidate knows she doesn't deserve the job but realises that if she can at least get through it without totally putting her foot in her mouth, then she just might get a favourable reaction on compassionate grounds.

...thus giving Hillary a clear run to the presidency. Pretty bad scenario if you ask me.

Everybody knows Putin lives on Big Diomede island, though the Russians call it Ratmanov Island. Palin flies out to Little Diomede every day and casts an evil glare out across the water at Putin, shouting out tough political statements that provide great pressure on him to not overstep his boundaries. When the fog is too thick, obscuring the two islands from each other as it often is, Palin expels all of her hot air and moves the fog aside.

She said "nucular." Twice.

I realized three things tonight. For one, if you are a McCain/Palin/Bush voter, you and I do not have a difference of opinion. We have a difference in brain power. Two, she really is as ignorant as I feared. And, three, she really is kinda hot. Basically, I want to have sex with her on my Barack Obama sheets while my wife reads aloud from the Constitution. (My wife is cool with this if I promise to "first wipe off Palin's tranny makeup." I married well.)

Now, I want to be clear and speak directly to those of you who LOVED that Palin interview. You're an idiot. I mean that. This is not one of those cases where we're going to agree to disagree. This isn't one of those situations where we debate it passionately and then walk away thinking that the other guy is wrong but argued well. I'm not going to think of you as a thoughtful but misguided person with different ideas who still really cares about the country and the world. No, sorry, not this time. This time, if you watched those interview excerpts and weren't scared out of your freakin' mind, then you're mentally ill, mentally disabled, or mentally disturbed. What you are NOT is responsible, informed, curious, thoughtful, mature, educated, empathetic, or remotely serious. I mean it.

But I like to think that anyone can change.

Stop voting for people you want to have a beer with. Stop voting for folksy. Stop voting for people who remind you of your neighbor. Stop voting for the ideologically intransigent, the staggeringly ignorant, and the blazingly incompetent.

Vote for someone smarter than you. Vote for someone who inspires you. Vote for someone who has not only traveled the world but who has also shown a deep understanding and compassion for it. The stakes are real and they're terrifyingly high. This election matters. It matters. It really matters. Let me say that one more time. This. Really. Matters.

I hate her so much.

But God look at those legs.

ThunderDawg that blog post was hilarious and extremely true.
