Scariest game ever?

ITT only one person has mentioned Fatal Frame. No one else in here has ever played a horror game, because there aren't any others.

Oh and did anyone mention Condemned? I don't think anyone mentioned Condemned. Condemned 2 had a motherfucking bear chasing you. A BEAR.

That was Darkside. Or Sonic. I forget, they're pretty much the same thing.

No good.

The bear chase in Condemned 2 = me shitting my pants.

Lol, who needs scary demons or unspeakable abominations ... when you have a friggin' BEAR? As stated by Mitch Hedberg, "Me and my friends did acid in the woods, 'cause there was much less chance of running into an authority figure. But we ran into a bear. And that is way more of a buzz kill."

System Shock 1: a deserted space station, creepy cybernetic sounds, strange hybrid techno-organic creatures, an invisible menace. It was 1994. By that days standards it was scary as hell.

I think I already posted these, but even so, it deserves to be mentioned again.

The original AVP Gold was spooky when it first came out. A great game.
Clive Barker: Undying is another good game. Somewhat spooky at times.
Deadspace is great.

To name a few.

Penumbra Black Plague and Condemned 2.
Didn't play much of Condemned 2, but the junkies really scared me.

I already said those WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU ZT.

didnt feel like going through 6 pages to read your opinion. anyways, this is a question appointed at individual preference

ANYWAYS is condemned for PC?

I really wish games actually scared me now, but the last time that happened was in the 2nd scenario of Resident Evil 2. The part where you have to light 3 torches on the wall, and as you start to leave, the ****ing Tyrant breaks through the wall... then after you put him down and leave via the adjacent hallway, he does it again. I immediately went to the nearest save spot and didn't play again for about a week. I don't think a game has ever made me shit bricks twice in 30 seconds like RE2 did. I just played through all of Fear 2 today for the first time, and at no point was I even slightly unnerved. It's a bit lame, as I'd love for a game to scare me to the point where I'm debating pressing on or not.

It is generally hard for a game to scare me properly, but ones that at least gave me a good few jumps and intense moments would be FEAR, Dead Space and Silent Hill. The gamecube version of Resident Evil was pretty scary too, there is a part where you waltz into the forest into this shack, there is a little room with a window looking down onto the landing, you head up there, check in the drawer and hear the door slam shut, only to see a 'thing' walking into the house, me and my mate were like 'WTF!!!!'.
