Just because it's a video game it can't scare you? That's bollocks I tell thee - I shat myself all the way through System Shock 2, Doom 3 was scary, but more erm..jumpy if you know what I mean, it makes you jump by thing ripping out of walls, where as SS2 has that pyscological fear to it.

Doom3 relied on cheap shocks with imps and sudden loud sounds waaaayyyy too much. It desensitized me. The only part I can remember being psychologically scared was walking through that room with those zombies trapped behind those doors like a scene out of "13 ghosts". The rest was a walk in the park.
May not seem much to you, but that was super freaky to me.

probably Xcom ufo defense. the music was very creepy, and i was on my first mission to recover a downed UFO in some farmland. i brought 2 of my marines in this one barn by a cornfield, left one at the entrance, the other checking for any alien contact inside, and then as im walking,my turn gets interrupted by this sectoid alien that starts shooting his plasma thingy at me, it was really loud and freaked me out, it killed one of my marines, and then that part of the map went dark(fog of war type thing). awesome but scary moment. that game was just perfect.
later i neutralized that alien, and had my scientists research his corpse and the weapon he was carrying.
