I'm putting my K8N Neo Platinum up on ebay and I'm ordering an ASUS K8V SE Deluxe. I hated my neo. Does anyone have this asus board that can tell me good/bad things about it?

Well I have it... works fine.. :p
Edit: Ask Asus, he'll probably know how to help ;)

I've asked about every living soul how to get it working well. Many people are having the same graphical problems as I.

Hmm I've heard nothing but good things about the Neo Platinum.

My friend has a Neo 2 board and he has alot of trouble overclocking his CPU. Also, the censor is right next to the RAM wich is really wierd, I think some people have put a fan directly over the censor to keep it cool.

I love mine MSI Neo Plat. board...
The only issue I had was the temp. read high but I just waited for the next bios update and that fixed the issue.

I know there were a number of issues on the forums but that is expected with any new board and chipset no matter which brand.

I ran an ATI 9800pro and my current Nvidia 6800GT and both ran with no issues.
The AGP/PCI lock works great (locked at 67) and I can OC my CPU (CG revision I believe, the newer one) very well on stock cooling/voltages. I'm using my year old Corsair PC2700 memory and I can OC it to 191mhz with 2-2-2-5 timings.

Not sure if you got a bad board or what the issue is. My nForce3 250gb chipset drivers are the current version.

I don't blame ya for not liking the board if your experience isn't going well but if that same issue happens with anyother board you probably won't get better tech support than MSI's. Asus is really good with compatibiliy though so they say screw tech support. ;)

They still got RMA support at Asus.... which makes up for everything.

I'm getting the same mobo tomorrow, hopefully will work better. On a side note, Asus I'm getting the same mobo/CPU combo that you currently have, how well does it overclock? Got any figures for temp, speed and FPS, in comparison to stock speeds?

Abit and Asus boards are the most reliable (Overall) mobos out there.

IMO MSI is up there as well.
The rest of the brands are a distance behind, but still good. :)

Ive had some very bad experiences with my MSI nForce 2 mobo so the next time I upgrade (I will have to if i want a new CPU) I will most probably be getting an ASUS board..not sure yet.

I have had no problems with this board. Good buy for the money in my opinion.

Which version of the neo platimun does everyone have? There's a second version of the board (neo2) that is socket 939 against the original boards socket 754 and i wouldnt mind knowing how both boards compare? I've just got a brand new socket 939 neo2 platinum sitting in its box awaiting the rest of the parts to come.

ASUS A7N8X-X nForce2,DDR400,USB2.0,AGPx8,LAN - anyone owns this board? I would like to hear your opinions about it as I'm planning to buy one. Actually you don't have to own it, just tell me what you know about it ;]

Its single channel only.... you're better off getting the A7N8X-E as that supports dual channel.

My MSI Neo Plat. is Socket 754, for my A64 3000+. ;)

I've had an Asus A7N8X Deluxe board and that got a lot of rave reviews.
I havn't heard nearly quite as many for that board but nothing bad about. The Deluxe board came with so many features and a good bios. Donno about the A7N8X-X. Single channel memory is not an issue with Athlon XP. Here's a review for ya.

Ya, maybe you just dont know what your doing?
First off, yes I do. I've built many computers (all with asus boards, which ahve never given me trouble). The K8N Neo Plat. has a hate for the 9600 pro and XT. Not to metino the onboard sound sucks and i get freezes in games every minute or so. I've updated the bios, I'm running version 1.47, and the nVidia chipset drivers to no avail.

I have two friends that have them and they love them. Theyre both running a water cooling system, so theyre processors are 600 MHz overclocked.

EDIT: sorry for the double post.

How will my Albatron K8X800 PRO VIA K8T800 stack up against these other mobos? (im getting it soon)

I love MSI, most reliable parts ever I've found :)

Although that's no help to you ;(

Are you talking about sound freezing in CSS?
My creative drivers will often take up 95% CPU usage since I've started playing the beta and I've though about going back to the onboard as it never gave me trouble.

great board, works great for me, (installing drivers downloaded from nvidias site are the same than the ones from the msi cd??)
