Insurgency and someone else.

Sure about insurgency, though.

Hasn't it been "soon" for over a year now? :)
Heh. 'Soon' appears so much from VALVe in responding to when deadlines will be, it usualy means anything from a few weeks to a year ;)

Hopefully this time it means very soon!
Yey, cant wait to play around with it.

ACtually it went from "soon" last year, to, "Not till game release" after the delays, and now back to soon again. Here's hoping.

Heh, I remember when it was "within a few weeks" early this year. Try not to get your hopes up. :)

Valve also said that they won't release the SDK before HL2..

cool, thats good news. im wondering though that even though HL2 isn't unlocked, if people who already bought it will be able to use all the materials, physics entities, models, sounds etc from hl2.. hmmmm

Sven Coop 2? :)

and why are you sure about insurgancy? that mod doesnt look very interesting to me (wow, another counter terrorism clone? yay!)

"another counter terrorism clone" -- Do a little more research before posting comments like that. If you knew anything about the mod, it is nothing like it.

I'll point you in the direction of some useful information so that you are better informed about Insurgency:

With regards to INS with hands on the HL2 SDK:

Nope, we don't have it.

I believe it would be Sven Co-op. DoD wouldn't really be considered a mod anymore.

Perhaps Natural Selection as well? Possibly The Specialists.

Sven Co-Op for sure as it's been stated by Valve that they're pretty much like a fan of this mod :).

Yeh, Sven CO-Op is basically guarenteed, VALVe will want something as good as Co-op for HL2 asap and giving them the SDK will increase the time they get it out.

Insurgency really has alot more talent than any other mod ive seen. And as far as Natural-Selection, I dont think so, you can check the forums on their site for alot more info about it, but they dont seem to eager to jump platform.

I really hope the port The Specialists to source. :)

Sadly I just got the confirmation mail by Sven Viking (the leader of the Sven Co-OP team) that they are not part of the SDK testing.. too bad :/

SDK stands for what? i missed a meeting at some point :(

yay! so, erm, just the tools that mod people will be using i assume?

Well if we don't find out, we will probably know because the team will release their mod 2 days after HL2 is released probably :p lol

here's one mod team: from the steam website:
September 21, 2004 - Valve®, developer of innovative technologies and award-winning games, today announced a Source engine licensing partnership with Smiling Gator Productions. Already in development, Twilight War: After the Fall is a Source-based Massive Multiplayer Roleplaying Game (MMRPG) for the PC.

The Valve Source engine technology, the same used to create Half-Life 2, gives developers the ability to create expressive digital actors and physically simulated worlds. It also offers advanced rendering capabilities and the industry's most convincing artificial intelligence.

"The Source engine is one of the gaming world's premier technologies, we are thrilled about the features it will bring to Twilight War: After the Fall," says Kingsley Montgomery, Vice President of Development at Smiling Gator Productions. "Its combat system, physics, and advanced AI are exactly what we were looking for to enable the exciting features we are developing for our game. We evaluated several game engines and concluded that Valve's was the only choice for us. In addition to being a top-notch product, their support has been excellent."

Smiling Gator Productions joins Troika Games and Arkane Studios as announced Source licensees. Source is designed for the creation of games from all genres, and contains a host of proprietary tools for level editing, character direction and more.

"We are eager to see the Source engine used for an MMRPG by Smiling Gator Productions," said Gabe Newell, Valve's C.E.O. "The ability to render realistic environments and create compelling characters with true-to-life emotional expressions will be a great innovation for one of the industry's most promising genres."
