Seriously Tom Cruise, What the ****?

It is nothing wrong to eat placenta. Since the placenta is useless when the baby is born and totally separated from the mother , eating placenta will do no harm on the father, the mother and the baby. To be honest, Placenta is an absolut nutriment. I would say it is good to eat placenta. Personally, I have had a feeling of vomit when I heard such a piece of disturbing news.

In an ordinary person it might be just a somewhat kooky endeavour. With Tom Cruise it's a symptom of his shitfaced nutsness.

Yeah, I'd be more grossed out if I didn't know that its not as weird as it sounds, and isn't exactly new. Not that I don't think he's out of his mind to tell anyone about it.

If you want nutrition, eat a damn apple!

We're not rats!

eating the placenta isnt all that uncommon

the fact that it's disgusting aside, the placenta carries spinal chord blood that is often harvested so that should the child have a life threatening blood disease such as sickle cell anemia, white cells collected from the blood could be used in treatment ..it's a very expensive process but for parents of children born with problems it could be lifesaving. But of course since Cruise is a looney, he'd rather eat it than save it should his child ever need it

it would be real sad if it came to the baby needing that placenta and Cruise having his way... :|
hmm...does anyone know if eating the placenta is part of Scientology? just curious.

This should make an entertaining South Park episode.

no ...but silent births are

wikipedia said:
Hubbard stated that the delivery room should be as silent as possible during birth. This stems from his belief that birth is a trauma that may induce engrams into the baby. Hubbard teaches that words in particular should be avoided because he stated that any words used during birth might be reassociated by an adult, later on in life, with their earlier traumatic birth experience. Hubbard also wrote that the mother should use "as little anaesthetic as possible". According to Hubbard, babies should not be bathed after birth, but should be wrapped up tightly and left alone for a day or so. Also, Hubbard wrote that breastfeeding should be avoided. As an alternative, Hubbard offered a potentially unsafe concoction, which he called the "Barley Formula". [1]

Hubbard was not a medical doctor, nor a pediatrician, nor a trained nutrionist. He received no college training in neo-natal care, or infant care. His claims regarding the care of babies and infants are disputed by many doctors and other professionals. Patricia Devine, MD, a maternal-fetal medicine specialist who directs the Labor and Delivery Unit at Columbia University Medical Center, said, "There's absolutely no scientific evidence that taking [noise] away at the time of delivery will have any effect on outcome for the baby or the mother

Oh yeah. I was eating breakfast when I stumbled to that picture on the first page of the thread. I'll tell you, after looking at that picture my eggs didn't taste so great anymore.

well i just lost all respect (or what little was left of it) for Mr Cruise

**** the placenta. Eat the baby

it might be doing the kid a favour...

the real question is how long do you give it until she realises she married a cannibalistic midget madman and files for divorce, whereby cruise throws a hissy fit and dies of alchoholism?

10-1 anybody?... cmon thats good odds:smoking:

I bet it would be good fried.

Actually, a few years ago I saw this special on the Discovery Channel where these people in other countries were chopping up and frying the placenta and just chomping on it. They were frying it in butter. Inexplicably, my mouth started watering. It looked like a Philly Cheesesteak.

Cruise was a good scientologist, until he saw a placenta and had a crisis of confidence. He met a young girl who let him regain his confidence and now he's the best ****ing scientologist there is.

Hehe Rich Hall :E

Link in the first post:

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has played down reports that he plans to eat the placenta of his new baby.

The War of the Worlds star was quoted in GQ magazine saying he thought the placenta and umbilical cord would be "very nutritious".

But in a subsequent interview with Diane Sawyer on US television, he made light of the comments.

"Yeah, we're going to do that - a whole family thing. Isn't that normal and natural? No, we're not eating it."

You're ruining our fun!

edit: And Ikerous, now's your chance. Once the baby is squirted like a watermelon seed out of Holmes' womb, merely slip in like an obstretician ninja and grab that placenta. You just GRAB that placenta and start eating it like a submarine sandwich in front of Tom Cruise. AND BEFORE THE WORLD.

Silent childbirth? Who the HELL came up with that idea. I would place a large sum of money on it being a man, and probably a man who'd never seen a child being born, or had no concept of the fact that the woman's trying to push another person out of them.

...although I'm pretty sure the woman's allowed to scream in pain.

ya she is ..well she's encouraged to groan but not speak ..oh and she's sually without drugs ..dont think they could force her to not cry out in pain
