Dr Steven Greer of SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) who also is envolved with the disclosure project has announced early this year that they have detected alien signals and have been for some time.

According to Dr. Steven Greer, yes, SETI has received multiple extraterrestrial signals. This news he says, is confirmed by senior employees within the SETI program.

As far as the spokesman comment... i've always heard silly things come out of 'love for space' communities before... So its hard for me to believe that they have recieved intelligent contact from alien life.

I will believe that once they show us what that contact was in the form of, so we can judge for ourselves rather than just blindly thinking, "They said so, it MUST be true, even though we have no idea what they're basing it off of"
 
Need more proof then what a spokesman has said, but this is good news none the less.
 
Well Greer always comes across as sincere, I wouldn't call him a nutcase. Not forgeting there are over 500 ex military ex government whistleblowers envolved in the disclosure project, all giving testimony to the existence of alien life and advanced technology.

Of course we are all skeptical, I personally happen to believe Greer at the same time.. of course there are people on this planet who won't want to know if its true, and people who will try and stop people from knowing. Remember the very existance of advanced cultures on other worlds with advanced tech (If its true they have displayed no indication of a threat as the testimonys describe it) will be threatening to most on the very basis of what most people like to hold true.
 
I applied to be a representative for the Disclosure Project a while back. I am very fascinated by such testimony by intelligence officers and high ranking military personnel. However, I never heard about this though. I would have expected it to be reported a lot more if something like that had been discovered. It wasn't even posted on the Disclosure Project home page.

Many people would think that because of the subject matter he's dealing with. He's done a lot to bring people forward who have interesting things to say about their careers in the military/intelligence/engineering area. After reading his "Disclosure" book, I feel a tad bit more convinced that there's something out there worth investigating.

Blame the education system? If advanced alien cultures do exist out there now... then to be quite honest I think the main reason that some would find it unverving is because it would be a blow to most of human understanding and not to mention our isolated, habbituated and egotistical nature.
 
lol, uh yeh, I had to rephraise it. But basically we think we are the 'shiz'.. the presence of more advanced cultures would force us to rethink that, hence perhaps ego damaging for certain people.

It's much easier to criticize me instead of doing your own research.

While I'm not 100% certain that alien life has visited us in the past or the present, I still think that the testimony of those in respectable positions should be heard. They've all volunteered to testify before Congress and under oath. These are people who were charged with the task of gathering intelligence for our country, protecting nuclear launch facilities, tracking aircraft along the eastern seaboard, etc. These are not your typical country bumpkins claiming to have seen a light in the sky. If we don't even trust these people, who do we trust?

Even if it's true and you have extremely convincing evidence you're going laughed at/abused/etc.

In my opinion... Intelligent Alien Belief without cold hard facts... is just like a religion. People unquestionably believe anything that certain people have to say... which is silly.

Just what I was thinking.
I'd like to think it's true and there has been something intelligible, verifiable and thus significant received, but for the minute I'm fairly sceptical.
