Shacknews is offering a $250 dollar reward to any gamer who can get pictures of HL2 on shelves, get pictures of them buying it, a picture of the receipt, and pictures of taking it home and installing it before 2pm on November 15th. We're all pretty sure that Valve has told Steve Gibson they'll unlock the game if he can get this proof.

There's a fellow in the thread I linked who took pictures of himself holding a copy in his local Target store in Oregon. He's on his way back there right now to get the rest of the photos and buy the game.

Assuming he's not the biggest hoaxster since P.T. Barnum, we may very well have Half-Life 2 unlocked within a couple hours.
