I might take the box to school and show my english teacher, because he loves half-life.

Make him really jealous because all he has is a stinking laptop :p

Same. To be honest, I'm more worried about becoming a hermit and not going out of my room until I finish it - not even to go down the pub.

ditto... and thats if i have the money to buy it in the first place ;(

Well, I go to Uni and it does take much to convince me to skip a lecture.

Correction: Well, I go to Uni and it doesn't take much to convince me to skip a lecture.

I suppose the money you'd save by not going to the pub you could spend on HL2. Sorted :)
And for those on their high-horse claiming that we don't give a sh*t about our education; leave it out. One game isn't going to severely dent our chances on passing; missing one or two lectures hither and thither isn't going to cripple our futures. We can always borrow notes off other people, we can always catch up, you're not f*cked entirely by being occasionally lazy.
HL2 won't be a cause for me to miss lectures, more an excuse :)

I noticed that the less physics lectures I went to last year, the better the result. Seriously.

In the first term, I went to about half of them, and got an E in my exam. In the second I went to about 5, and got a C. In the third, I went to just one and get a B.

i personally think valve should release it at the weekend, (i know it could be sunday in uk and saturday in US but still possible) cuz otherwise they'd feel guilty (WOULDN'T YOU VALVE?) :p

I'm not skipping school for it, but if its wed or friday release i'l pick the game up in one of my frees (2 in afternoon on wed and 3 in morning on friday :D) ROXOR MI SOXOR!

I won't call out sick, but I DO plan on taking a day of leave from work.

All games in the UK come out on a Friday.
Well, not if it's a world-wide realease. Besides, I hardly think a mid-week release is going to cause the country to grind to a halt because everyone pulled a sicky.

And Feath you're right - it's so depressing to have come out of a lecture thinking "I gained f*ck-all from that. You wasted 50 minutes of my time and I want them back."

I think it may have something to do with chart rules. Like, it won't be in the UK games charts if it doesn't come out on a Friday. Or, it could be legal. I don't think I've ever seen a game come out on a day other than a Friday. It's why Doom 3 came out 10 days after the US release, they had to wait for a Friday (and the Friday straight after must've been too close).

Aye, awful feeling. Especially if the guy's really really boring and he's talking about something you already know. Or you're hungover. Hungover lectures are awful.

Never had a hungover lecturer before. Fingers crossed, eh. I have had some truly odd lecturers though - it makes things more interesting, but harder to pay attention.
Hungover lectures/seminars are baaaad news, although it's quite funny when you wake up still drunk from the night before. I was in a seminar and towards the end just drifted off into my own little world, I started to giggle away and then the seminar leader snaps me back to Earth -
"Chris? Are you alright?"
"What? Oh erm sure" <Fails not to grin too obviously or appear blatantly pissed>

Hungover lecturers are more interesting

I'm out of education and I'm yet another step closer to latching onto the dole since my latest job application was refused, but I've never had much faith in the curriculum- it always felt to me that I wasn't being taught anything and that the classes were merely there to prove that I had ability in particular subjects. So I'd have been tempted to drop school entirely on the release :D

If I did chuck a sickie and stay home for HL2. I would be so damn lucky :p :p

Worried about how you are going to act when you have the game? Hehe......

If i have HL2, i hope i have my new pc ready by then. Because i aint playing it with my current pc...

Ontopic, hmm i voted NO. Ill never skip anything for a game. Thats crazy. And even if i wanted, i cant skip anything anymore starting November, because i am joining the Dutch Army and i will only be at home on saturday and sunday. But ill play it in the weekend all the time. But nothing beats a real weapon in your hand, and to shoot with it. I already shot with a real Diemaco C7 ( the improved m16 ) Though, a game like HL2 really comes close to reality.
