It surprises me no one in here has started a Sin City topic?
I watched last night 4 days before it opens in Denmark, and I must say that this has been the best movie in 2005!

Good acting =
Lovely monologue (very Max Payne'ish) =
Lovely and original effects and design =
Awesome sounds and music =
A person from the audience ran out of the cinema puking... it kinda added something to the movie =
TONS AND TONS AND TONS OF VIOLENCE =

It's bloody original.
It's bloody awesome.
I's bloody... bloody :)
What can you expect from a movie when Tarantino participated in it's development.

There has already been a Sin City thread, since it came out in America ages ago.

He did a small car scene and that's it.

It's bloody original.
Well... not entirely since every scene was practically taken straight from the comics.

I mean there wasn't lots of movies like it was it?

The movie was insane. Crazy good.

One of the best of the year. Adore the style, bloody violence, and comic-driven story.

Now, just awaiting the DVD release. :D

Yeah I enjoyed it. Good acting for the most part... nice pace... nice special effects... and all of it shot for 50 million dollars, which is amazing considering the cast.

Bet you watch Gamespot's 'On the Spot' dont ya?

Yes, amazing movie and completely faithful to the comics. Let's just hope Hollywood doesn't **** up V for Vendetta and I'll be the happiest kid alive.

Agreed. Seen Natalie Portman bald yet? Still f***ing beautiful!

Here's a picture of Natalie Portman bald and I couldn't agree more... she is absolutley beautiful. Totally how my ideal woman would look. She does have great breasts too, but those pics on the beach with the white strip from her Bikini hardly do them justice :D

She's got the kind of face that makes it really not matter.

Sorry for contributing to the thread-jack :D

I just sneaked into Sin City and I walked out with the hugest kill boner I have ever had in my life. (OK, the last part was a lie)

I am writing up a nice review on another site which I shall quote here when it is done.

If you see one film this year, see Millions because it is safer than sneaking into a crowded 18 rated movie. If you are 18, or have nerves of steel, see Sin City. This film will blow your socks off!

I can say with every ounce of honesty in my body that this film is the best I have seen for a looong time. It is a bloodthirsty trilogy of pulp fiction based on the famous graphic novels by Frank Miller. The visual style refelects the comic-book roots and is certainly one of the main draws of the feature. But this film is much more than that. It has plots that twist and a turn like a twisty-turny thing. The violence can be excessive, and certainly more graphic than the forefather that is Pulp Ficiton.

The first story, is the story of Marv (A low-life who has just got out of prison). After sleeping with the beautiful Goldie he wakes up to find her dead and he swears revenge. This leads to a series of brutal torturings in finding the murderer. This story is possibly the most action packed of the three stories and it certainly brings a smile to your face that you know shouldn't be there.

The second story, is the story of Dwight. His new girlfriend's ex boyfriend is giving her grief, so he gives chase and ends up getting him killed. But, when he finds out that the ex is a cop, he is in some serious trouble and almost sparks off a gang war in Old Sin City.

The third and final story is the story of Hartigan (a disgraced cop accused of murder and child molestation). He makes a full confession so that he may get out of jail and seek the one girl who knew he was innocent. But, when she is kidnapped by The Yellow Bastard, this leads to a frantic chase and some very cinematic sequences.

Who am I kidding? The whole film is a cinematic masterpiece. I implore you to see this at whatever cost.

Sin City... Wow. I didnt lovely like the trailers as it happans, but the film blew me away, fantastic in every way.

Sin City=One of my favorite movies.

And the puking in the theatre, it happened to me too. The theatre I was in had about 3-4 people that ran out side with a grossed out look on thier face when (you know who) puts the (you know whats) on (you know who's) legs and arms and then (blanks) his (blanks) off.

Weird though, in the UK its an 18, I dont see why its an 18? Could someone remind me of any parts that should deem it that? Apart from like blood which was for the most part an odd color, depending whos it was or if it was just black and white.

Well even though there was no real blood, It is still very gruesome to see a guys nuts get ripped off.

U (All ages)
PG (All ages, but advised parents view it first)
12 (12 year olds and up...)
12A (12 if taken with an adult) This rating was designed to annoy the shit out of me while 12 year old little bastards yell during star wars.
15
18

I dont think theres anything higher then that.

I dont even remember the sex scene, maybe I was looking the wrong way... :p, the cannibalism I guess would give it 18.

Not like I pay much head to the ratings, but it is good to know. As for the sex scene, nothing special, just ugly ol' marv getting screwed by a hot blonde hooker.

Do you really have to obey those ratings in the US? In Denmark people don't really care about those...

There is also Uc - Especially for little kids. Normally reserved for Thomas the Tank Engine.
And R18 - Basically a way of saying X-rated without starting World War 3.

Well, I wouldnt know about R18s, Im a good girl. >.>

I remember now there was a Uc, infact it was that show that I remember it from.

I dont see why it needs a warning label of Uc though, "Ooo dear we cant buy this film, its Uc! We are not children!"

It is like M-18 in the US.

I've been seeing some tv adverts for this in the UK now and they're absolute shit. I don't see why they don't just cut out parts from the official trailers and cut them into 30 seconds.

I hope they don't hurt its rankings in the UK box office.
