It was a shady cafe on the corner of 25th and Cranbury where I met him, all dressed up with a collarless shirt more expensive than the suit - the kind that lawyers and architects wear. I asked him what the hell he wanted with me - HARDcorps doesn't take just any job - and he opened the briefcase.[br]</br>"New content, huh?" I asked, intrigued.[br]</br>HL2.net's sister site, Sinepisodes.net had been updated, he said. Updated with new news posters on duty, a full weapons and characters library, and more besides. I looked him in the eyes, and we both nodded in unison. He snapped the briefcase shut; I heard the beep of the electromagnetic locks. "Just click the links," he said, and stalked out of the door.[br]I put my shades back on and walked out without another word. There was work to do; this city wasn't going to clean itself up. And Elexis was still out there somewhere.

Be sure to register on the forums and discuss SiN \o/

reading the content on the site. Sounds very amateur to me tbh. But maybe i just dont get the humour

So do we still need the SinEp forum here?
Yes.

SinEpisodes.net isn't affiliated with this site officially, other than friendship / crossovers between the staff and members, etc. At least that's my understanding of it.

I think this is stretching the news a bit though. It's kind of like an advertisement for SE.net. Don't get me wrong, I like the site (shit, I'd be annoyed as HELL had it not been 'revitalized' because I've been checking the damn thing daily) but I don't think this is really news post material.

No. Its truly a waste of space in my opinion, and not to mention the fact that its pretty much dead. It'd be like having a Half-life 2 forum at Sineps.net. It isn't needed, its much more preferable if the two sites are affiliated.

Yep.

Also, you do know the SinE.net subforum is just a forwarder to Sinepisodes.net right?

SinEpisodes is not on the "links and affiliates" page. plus I dislike the idea of every site that feeds news from us getting a huge advertisment for SinEpisodes.net.

I'm not gonna lose sleep over that :p

There's no Hidden: Source forum, or MINERVA forum, to name but two.

Minerva definitely doesn't need a forum, no one would post - but it's a high quality mod nevertheless. Hidden: Source is far more viable than Plan of Attack for a forum, though. Or Nuclear Dawn, depending on if it's the release they're counting down to or what.

Unfortunately that's where the story ends because clicking the image takes you to a 'Not Found' error.

I dont understand why the newspost is just an advert for SinEpisodes... SinEpisodes really has nothing whatsoever to do with halflife2, Steam and the engine dont count, i mean... there was no huge news post about Vampire Bloodlines or whatever else uses source.

Fortunately, it's not that hard to work out what to do at that point.

Well I don't know, I was told to make a SinE.net newspost, I made it. /me shrugs

SiN is going to be on the Source engine. SiN is going to be using Valve's online distributing system, Steam.

So, you're saying, that HL2 mods shouldn't be on this site either then? They use the Source engine - They are in no way working with Valve...

AND its also a fanpage of Chris_D exaclty like hl2.net ... the news have all rights in the world to be here on hl2.net.

its good to have it back. Now sinep can come :smoking:

Wait, is it a mod or just a game using the source engine? I'm pretty sure it's not a mod.

It's a licensed game. That wasn't the point I was making. :smoking:

Yes, I know.

But my point is that games using the source engine are far more different than a mod for the game this site is dedicated to.

If SiNEpisodes.net didn't exist, I guarentee we'd still cover SiN Episodes news.

It's a revolution in game design that's paved the way forward for not only many other games developers, but also our beloved Half-Life 2 which Valve are now using to take an iterative and episodic approach to their engine and the Half-Life 2 series. It's releasing on a content delivery platform that is already revolutionising the way that games can be purchased, played and updated; the very same system used to deliver all Valve titles. It's being built on the Source engine which is developed by Valve and is going to be used for many game-generations to come to produce the games we love.

If that's not news worthy, then most of the stuff we post on these news pages isn't either.

Besides, there's a lot more people out there that appreciate being informed that SiNEpisodes.net is back than those that are complaining. You know the site is back, so please just enjoy it :)

What the fridges is a 'pisode', and what has trigonometry got to do with it? :p

I would say a short newspost is warranted, as the sites are affiliated bla bla, but I wouldn't have posted a piece of mini-fanfiction with a rather huge image that adds absolutely nothing. It all makes it more like an ad than a newspost. But then again, I'm not a newsposter.

PS. Do other mods get to submit a huge pic for newsposts as well? I'll fix something up that screams "ZOMBIE MASTERRRRRRR" with a gang of hawt grils underneath.

*hawt, decaying girls
