Here is a model of a smoke grenade I have made for my MOD. This is the beta version of it and it is not finished. The textures and all are also not finished.

Well, having jsut modeled one myself for CWMP (scroll down a bit in the forums), I will gladley point out where if needs work


Model: The cyliner is too thick compared to the rest of the grenade.
The green skin is too basic, jsut a simple color, the text is too small and blurry. Also the handle shouldn't have a poorly mapped basic 3dsmax texture on it.

Also, where's the pin, ring, and turning point?
 
I am still working on the top of the grenade but, if you notice this is an M84 grenade not an M83. I am not exactly sure if I should make the grenade look exactly like the M83. Also can you direct me to a good handle texture?

urrrr, direct u? u have to make it your self or get someone else to specially make it for u. Unless u are just going to add a simple material. But that will look crappy. As Sidewinder said its out of preportion and has no pin and the top handle part is totally modelled wrong. See if u can make it more acurate and I strongly sujest going abck to basics. Try some more tutorials. Learn more about how to model and what u need to do before u even start modelling something.
 
Ok modified. The M84 isn't even a grenade so I can make it look like whatever I want, sort of.
 
i think it looks pretty cool :) skins looks abit mspaint'ish tho ;) lol heh here is a my M83 i did a while back, i am still new to modelling tho. good work so far :cheers:
 
Hehe, I feel loved :)

There are some free image editing programs that are better than Paint, can name them off the top of my head, but you can google "free image editing" and you'll proberly find a few.

You have a good start, though you really should uvw unwrap the top instead of using basic 3dsmax UVmaps.
 
UVWunwrap? I am sorry, I don't know what that is. Also tonight I will make the cylinder smaller. I just noticed it is WAY too big. I will be downloading Wally's texture maker tonight also.
 
Looks nice.

But speaking of UVW unwrapping, does anyone have a good tutorial?? I looked through the sticky post already but couldnt find much that was helpful :(
 
Thanks I really think that the cylinder is way too big. I have to change that.
