Why are Snipers looked at as being lame or losers or more to the fact AWP's.
 
People think that the AWP takes no skill what-so-ever, but that's not true. Sure, the Scout takes more skill but the AWP is not easy to use.
 
at the end of the day getting kitted out with an awp is 6k, stop winging

We can reach out and touch someone when they may not even see us. They want us to fight at 5m, but then we take them out from 40m or something and no one likes dying so that's why I guess.
 
Because people hate that the AWP is a 1 shot kill. I agree Q_onfused. The AWP takes skill just like the Scout does. The weapon I think that doesnt need skill is the auto sniper, simply because its auto and easy to kill with. Atleast it is for me.
 
Sorry, but this post made my head hurt trying to read it.

I do get the jist of what you're saying though. And while I may not like AWPers, they are justified because in a real combat situation there would be a sniper to backup the main force, or to scout the area. The problem is when most everyone on a team starts AWPing and then it's just... retarded.

Also, I must admit that I connot use the AWP worth a damn in Source. I can use the scout just fine and it feels great to heashot everyone with it, which actually takes some skill. But I can't seem to hit jack sh*t with the AWP. It just doesn't feel right to me.

But hey. If you don't like someone's AWPing, just flank 'em and cap 'em old fashioned style.
 
AWPS are NOT overpowered. They cost a lot and fire slowly. Although I see that they are very deadly in the hands of a good sniper, I think that it is Way too easy to just "flank 'em and cap 'em old fashioned style".:) Unless they see you in which case you are probably gunna get gunned down, but as long as you have some cover and a gun with bullets in it, be it a deagle or a PARA, sneak up behind the camper and take him out :) I know this can be hard, but if you know the map, and you know how to stealthy and shoot someone in the back, and if you have practiced, it shouldn't be to hard to take out a n00bie with a sniper : )
 
When I get hit by an AWP I get pissed off. I'm mad at myself for not being smarter and I'm mad that I couldn't get anywhere near the guy to kill him. That being said, I see no reason to take it out of the game because I was pwned. I just have to try to be smarter and better next time. That's why my servers have no weapon restrictions. I think AWPers are not respected because the disrespecting people have no skills or at least no desire actually work hard to get better. They want to be good now and the only way to do that is to bring the other guy down or outlaw his weapon.

Kind like life really.

in terms of skill, the scout takes more to use than the awp. but i don't really care, the server i play on has the noob cannon disabled anyway..

What would be good is if the awp's scope view 'bobbed' (cause u cant hold a gun still, especially a heavy thing like the awp). Then if u killed some1, thats TRUE sniping.

Ive seen countless times where teams camp a certain entry point (double door, tunnel, hallway, etc) with AWP and its near impossible to penetrate.

In my opinion, most of the guns and maps in CS encourage close up combat and getting killed by some1 aallllll the waaaaay down theeeere, frankly feels cheap.

Notice the crosshair on all guns, see how it expands when u shoot? with AWP it doesnt, ur essentially aiming at same spot when u fire a round, reload chamber and look through scope again.

Dont listen to me but, im just talking outta my ass (cause ima noob) :afro:

I don't really mind the awp that much since it's pretty hard to use....but on some games you would have a whole firing squad of AWPers that nobody can survive.

The auto cannon on the other hand takes no skill although I'm okay with it's use when you're outnumbered or getting pwned.
 
I can't recall the last time I used one :eek: ,does the awp (un-zoomed) have a crosshair? if not,headshots that way would take skill right?

I pretty much suck at CS (but I love it anyway),so to me, all the weapons are pretty balanced in the amount of my deaths they cause!

No but you can just mark the spot on your monitor.
 
In my opinion, the scout takes less skill than the awp does.

Simply because of how fast you move with a scout, and in a pub, you can almost buy a scout every round regardless of what happened the previous one. It's easier to pop out and shoot somebody with the scout.
 
yes but with an awp you dont have to keep shooting them, one shot (whether the head or the big toe) is usually an instant kill, anything but a hs with a scout requires you to keep poppin out, and once sum1 sees where u r and all ya got is scou u better be a good shot otherwise u r gooooooooone
 
@ that dude talking about how snipers contribute to the realism of the game:

Maybe there should be another weaponchoice of a Scout with a bigger scope..

I just had a great idea.. There should be a rule.. Build in the game..

-> Winning team gets to use 1 AWP max.. Losing team 2..

I mean: that would be great! Good Lord I rule! :p

Oh by the way:

I never really think the price of the AWP is a good argument.. 'Cause when you're winning.. Money keeps piling up anyway..
 
when fighting against someone with an awp, move fast, stay out of the way, and don't get hit. the awp costs lots of money, and it fires very slowly. it's not a deadly weapon. I would use the awp, but so far I just stick with the SMG (I got 6 kills with the SMG in one round today :3)

AWP is great gun. Hole team uses awp? :rolleyes:

And if i get n00b team with awp's against me i will buy awp by my self. And thats just about it. I kill them. It easy, i mean if hole team of n00bs use's awp you can kill them easy. just shoot them. That cant be that hard. This tactic works great: By awp, desert eagle and kevlar and helmet. Then just go some good position. Wait your team mates to go and kill them selfs. Then jump and shoot. Repeat this so long that you have killed thos awp n00bs other side. :) Easy.

You can also kill them easily by sneaking in their backs, and thats sooo easy. just buy awp and shoot first those who are top of the rank list ;) Then kill those awp n00bs. And if this doesent work you just suck. :p

With AWP there is no pwning involved.. Buy a scout if you think you're thát good.. Cocky m.. :)

I usually mark the spot the decal shows up on while I shoot unscoped....works relatively well for short distances where I don't need the scope.

To Guy on last page: Noob cannon is easy to use at short ranges, but it is pretty hard to use at long ranges. So it is very easy to own with a scout or AWP. But it is very deadly at close ranges.
 
I don't have a problem with except for the fact that every know and then I get hit in the ****ing foot and die which is utter bullshit.
 
lol, so true. They should change it so that if you get hit under the waist you don't die. Maybe u only have 20 health left but that would be ok.
 
when i was in vietnam, i was a sniper myself. It's obviousley lame cos i could here the enemy shouting "lamer, stop sniping you lamer noob" from the bushes. I immediatley put away my sniper rifle and pulled out my knife and won the entire war myself!
