Today I walked home 4 miles from work because the traffic was gridlocked, helping stuck drivers on the way. Fun!

That 95.5cm of snow we got in that 24 hour period was preceded by another storm less than a week before of about 15-30 cm. We had to plow snow into the harbour.

Some local areas reached 120 inches in the last 24 hours.
1 in = 2.54 cm.

Snowed all day again here in the West Midlands. Just looked outside now it's dark... man, snowy nights look so awesome. Everythings so bright yet so dark. Think I may go for a walk.

At the top of my road is a school, with a huge tarmac playground. The school was shut yesterday (so the snow/ice was completely undisturbed), and the snow that had fallen had semi-melted and had frozen through the evening and the whole playground was just one huge solid icesheet. I took my car up there lastnight for a bit of handbrake fun and driftage.

and winter sucks arse..snow is alright for like a week but then when the snow turns to ice it's annoying as hell..

then you gotta deal with retarded a$$ salt getting all over your shoes/pants and everywhere on and in your car...just extremely annoying.

and wtf is with the cold...-32C with windchill a few days ago?! like come on..i can't wait till summer.

Also our schools are supposed to shut down if it's that cold outside but for some dam reason they didn't and i had to walk to my 10 min bus stop and i think my face almost froze.

I can't imagine that much snow....they even already had a fair bit of snow on the ground before the 120 inches fell :O

It is fairly localized, in the major lake affect snow bands. A few counties have been completely blanketed, where I live we didn't get hit by as much (a couple feet, nothing over my head )
