Every few days I have this experience when I'm dreaming, where I have a flash of awareness of a scene that ends up taking place a few days later. I don't know how it fits with the rest of my dreams, because when I wake up my mind considers them two separate things. I attribute the future sight to a memory that happened a few days ago, my reasoning for remembering such a meaningless scene is deja vu, as with every scene I experience an intense feeling of it. And that's the strangest part of all, in the dream everything takes place exactly as it does when it happens, so since I get the feeling it's happened before when it really does happen, I also experience it in the dream.

So here's the breakdown:

1) Every so often I have a dream that takes place over a few moments and I experience all the feelings and senses along with it (usually deja vu).

2) Upon waking up my mind pushes the flash out of it's mind classifying it as an odd memory I remembered because it gave me deja vu.

3) A few days later I experience the moment in the dream exactly as it happened in the dream, which gives me a strong sense of deja vu, which is why I feel that in the dream.

4) All this together gives me the sensation that I've experienced these brief moments three times.

5) My dreams get more vivid as time goes on. Last summer I would get snapshots of something that happened, now I get a brief clip, that is an exact replica. The scenes themselves remain completely pointless, so far I've got 12 seconds of sitting in a car, a moment of looking at a computer, and waiting for the bus.

Any one else have any other odd psychic foresight?

You aren't actually getting foresight- this has happened too me, too. You do something that you attribute to a dream that happened a few days ago, a completely un-related dream that doesn't mean anything. You put what just happened into an empty dream, and your sub-conscious thinks you foresighted it, when you just had a weird moment of deja-vu.

I think you've got it backwards. The dream occurs before the event.

Edit: Oh, wait I understand what you're saying. I don't know if that's right though, why would your subconscious bother any way. I'm almost positive it's real.

Your sub-conscious is ****ing with you.

Yup, I get this too. Either everybody is slightly psychic, or it's just your sub-conscious beeing an asshole.

Hmm. Deja vu.

When deja vu takes place, it gives people a sense of familiarity of the present happening. Perhaps they have never dreamed of it, but there is some misconnection of nerves which makes people think they have dreamed of it. Kind of a past recognition delusion.

Or, maybe the deja vu is about daily routine. People do similar things every day so they dreamed of them one night. On the other day, when people carry out their daily routine again, they have deja vu.

Please just listen. I know why you're here, Corp. Sheepo. I know what you've been doing. I know why you hardly sleep, why you live alone, and why night after night you sit at your computer. You're looking for him. I know, because I was once looking for the same thing. And when he found me, he told me I wasn't really looking for him. I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us, Corp. Sheepo. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question just as I did.

Did this start after the Ascension?

... Huh?

Less periods pls. :D

I get this a lot, I actually had it 2 days ago, sitting at my lunch table, my friend said something, and we all looked at him like he was a f*ck up, and i got deja vu. It's weird like that, and every time I get it something unfortunate, or bad happens to me... like one of my friends and I are gonna get in a fight next hour, or I'm gonna be embarrassed at some point during the day, and usually I get nervous when it happens, and try my best to be neutral, or fix a potent problem before something big happens, and usually if I ignore it, the bad things happen... Cuase on friday, when it happened, I ignored it and later I said something really mean to my mom and made her cry for a few hours... Haven't felt that bad for a while.

Last time I got it my cat died the next day. Unfortunate how it works out, but it's not something that controls what happens, it's a warning. (In my case that is.)

I was wondering about this same thing for a while, and when i talk to my friends about it, they say they get it too. I try to talk to my parents about it, however, and they try to tell me it's just a dream, and make me feel like I'm just a little ignorant bastard, instead of the real answer, that they have no idea what's going on in my head, they just think that I can't think on my own........

Sorry to rant a bit, i just really get into this subject sometimes. :p

I've had a couple of dreams where I've sort of made predictions.

1)One night I lost my phone. I hate being without my phone even at night so I immediately got up to look for it. I put the light on but even so I couldn't see my phone anywhere. Trying to put it out of my mind the fact that I still didn't know where my phone was I went back to sleep. I had a dream about my phone being down the side of my mattress. When I woke up i asked my mum to ring my phone (my phone's always on) so i could find it. I did find and you know where it was? In the exact place it had been in my dream. I didn't see it at all when I was looking for it so i had no idea it was there.

2) In the morning just before I got one of my magazines in the post I had a dream that on the ltters page there would be a girl called Salma who had written in. So, as soon as i got the magazine i turned to the letters page and sure enough at the bottom was the name Salma.

These two things have kind of freaked me out a bit.

Something like that happens to me sometimes. The best example from me is when I had the dream years previous to the event. It was an utterly pointless dream (in a classroom I didn't recognise someone I didn't know reached for a pencil from a pot), so I always remembered it. 3yrs or so later, we were doing some group project in the classroom and I turned to my right to face the blackboard. And what happened in the dream happened. I then realised exactly who the dream kids were and got pretty freaked out..

I don't now how it could be anything other than "I dreamt it, then I saw it!", because the dream was something I thought about quite a lot. How I knew, 3yrs previously, what classroom I would be in, the table I would sit at, who would sit around me, and what glasses my future best friend would wear, I don't know :p

As long as any psychicness sticks to boring events like that it's fine. I'll worry if I start predicting deaths. Lottery numbers also acceptable.
Pretty much this^. It's the same except less meaningful and more frequent.

I thought it was Trinity who says it, not Morpheus?

I remember something like this happening to me a couple of times, but realy, if anything wil convince me that I'm psychic, it's this a completely different thing that happens to me. Basically, I start thingking about something, or maybe I just remember something, and then something connected to what it was I was thinking about happens. It's usualy something really small, say, I was lurking through HL2.net, not really paying attention, just skipping through posts, then I start thinking about the war in Iraq and finally decide to read through a random post. Guess what it's about? You've got it - it's about the war in Iraq.
Always freaks me out.

I occationally get Deja Vu. And by occationally I mean once or twice a year. I believe that precognative abilites are a load of crap.

On a slightly related note, I sort of get deja vu in my dreams. Sometimes I'll have a dream which I think I've had before, sometimes multiple times. Sometimes I actually HAVE had the dream before, but most of the time it's just my mind telling me I've had it before, but after I wake up and think about it, I'll know that I havent' actually had that dream before, and it's just my mind tricking me. My dreams can put me in a place or situation I've never been in before, and yet somehow make them seem familiar and that I have been there before. Interesting.

This happens all of the time, but no one believes me :(

Of all the billions of experiences you have combined with countless dreams some do match up, your brain has the ability to match patterns (evolved for survival purposes obviously)

For every case of 'foresight' there are billions? of experiences you didn't dream/predict about

LIKE THIS: BLOOPPOSDPOSPASSAISUDNSAUNASODNAOSUIhahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's actually strange that often you only 'remember' a dream you had last night after an awake thought triggers it.

You actually have tons of 'dreams' every night, you only experience a proper dream when this 'leaks' through into experience neural networks and thus settles as a memory, in many cases you are aware that you have been dreaming upon waking but cannot recall a dream.

Any 'short cicuiting' can cause deja vu etc and no matter how realistic it is, 'you are SURE you've experienced it before' this is simply because it appears as a genuine memory, for example if i told you that you never played half life (those that have) you'd be hard pressed to believe it yourself.

You also get 'genuine' deja vu, it is nothing strange however, if you do experience the same set of circumstances your brain rapidly matches the pattern and you get the feeling.
I have had several deja vu MSN conversations and tracked back and found very similar convos (has always been with the same person) previously.

This happened today and I am quite sure it's not my subconcious. I was making a stupid picture in paint when it happened. I thought, "ah ****, this shit again, why am I on paint any way?". I saw the exact image that was on my computer today, an afro and a ninja. I thought about that for days after I foresaw it. And I think I wasn't asleep this time when I saw it.

BUMP

Try this:

Think about thinking.

your mind is boggled.
