Has this happened to anyone before? I bought a guitar package online from a respectable site (over 5000+ ratings on BizRate) and I spent $137. Now, it shipped, it's all fine and dandy except the store gave me $137 instead of taking it away, so I now have more money in my account than I started with.

How does one go about solving this problem? Is it legal for me to keep it? Last thing I need is 20 lawyers banging on my door for their $137.

I don't see any problem.

They f*cked up so I'd say just keep the cash. If they come knocking on your door, just give it back.

No harm no foul.

:O

What store was this. Inform me right this instant!!!!

Heheh, jk... And erm... I dunno you might just be lucky and get away with it.

Kinda reminds me of when I bought a mobile phone off the mobile republic website just a day or two before they shut down. They sent me the phone (Which was suppost to be on contract) but didnt take my money.... So I just poped in a pay as you go sim and now I have a free phone!!! :D

score! Well you aint got the goods yet so wait till they come first to see if anything else changes. Personally i'd keep the cash...its their loss...i cant believe they did that!

If you are feeling guilty/paranoid then do what your heart tells you.

p.s. you could tell them you never got charged so they take out the money they gave you. Then you will have got your stuff for free practically. I can't see how you've done shit wrong? It's their fault.

God damn guitar stores think they own the world. Think they can just sell you a guitar and then give you your money back. I say stick it to the man and pay them double.

I think it's safe to say that you can give it to me.

I would keep it, one time I went bowling and I asked for change for a 10 and I ended up getting the change and the 10 dollar bill back.

Their stupidity, your gain.

Eh, nevermind, it did FINALLY go through. Jeez they took so long (last Friday I ordered).

I think by law, you need to inform them of the mistake, if they still haven't sorted out the problem and got the money from you after 30 days, it is yours.

LOL!!!

funniest post in a long while!!!

Give it back. If you dont its stealing. Also if you dont you're being an arse.

Personally... I would give them $137. And as they made the mistake, you keep the other $137... so its kind've free. But looks like its sorted anyway so meh :p

Don't just give back the $137, give them $1337 to prove your leetness.

They are a bigger buisness, this mistake is their fault, and probably doesnt hurt them at all, I say keep it.
