So my 360 finally died.

All my Nintendo handhedls and consoles, covered in dust and after being bumped around for years, still work.
Mine too...just takes a little blowing on the cartridges and I am golden (usually). If not, a few resets does it. :E

I think, if we're gonna go on consoles/computers etc, the more complex things become, the less reliable they seem to become, atleast that's the way I've seen things evolve.

Seriously. Look at human beings for instance...:p

Back in the 90s, there was actually a scientific research paper made about whether blowing on cartridges makes the games work more reliably, and that was actually found to be false :p

I am looking at three xbox360 boxxes each with a broken 360 in it =\ Microsoft never liked me because I beat Bill Gates in checkers geez.

Hahaha! That totally rings a bell!! It still feels like it does something though...in a vague and mysterious psychosomatic way. :E

Haha, yeah, even though I know it makes the cartridges work less reliably I can never help myself when I bust out the N64.

Thats lies. I remember the old Gameboy days when inserting a dirty cartrige resulted in a pixled up Nintendo logo at startup. Blowing into the cart and reinserting it always fixed that.

Also, to keep somewhat on the topic of broken 360s, my second has stopped connecting to Xbox Live. I don't know why. I've everything I can think of and it ALWAYS fails the "IP Confirmed Test". This ranges from using multiple network cables, direct connection to modem, Windows ICS, going to a friend's house and trying it there. I'm quite convinced my 360 is messed up. And to add to the weirdness, I'm still magically able to stream all my media content from my PC yet I fail the IP confirmed test on the "Media Connection Test". Stupid 360.

I'm sure it helps when they're full of dust.

Well obviously if you're blowing off a layer of dust it'll improve it :p, but a lot of times problems were caused just by a loose pin connection. Also, when you blew on the pins in the cartridge, tiny drops of spittle and water would get on it (no matter how carefully you blew), and then when you turned the system back on the spit/water would react and corrode the pins and contacts.

Or at least that's what I remember.

Bullshit. It blows the dirt and dust out of the cartridge so it can read it better. It does work.
