Is it just me or does it seem like this site has totally died out in the last couple of months? I used to be able to log on at just about any time and there was something new and interesting that was posted. This wasn't that long ago, just a couple months back. Today it seems like we get a couple good posts a day at most and aside from that its posts about butt sweat.

What the hell happened?

Nothing happened.

Everything is normal.

Everyone makes good posts, all the time.

Krynn and Badhat are just 2 examples off the top of my head of posters I frequently enjoy reading.

I haven't seen Stern in a while, which is a great thing in itself.

You're not enjoying the quality of threads posted in off-topic, so you create a redundant thread in off-topic about it?

How about you spur discussions of your own instead.

I'm spurring a discussion now about why there is a lack of discussion.

You seriously don't think that this place is alot more dead than it was just a couple months back? Is it all in my head?

I've been here since 07 (and lurked before that) and it definitely seems that the forum is less busy, but not completely dead.

If I could burn types of thread, this would be one of them. Instead, I'll wait for the possibility of a mod to lock it.

But on a serious note, at the same time I joined this forum, I joined another as well. This is the one I post in now and I gave up on the other because it was boring. HL2.net forums aren't that bad.

If we did this before I wasn't a part of it. So it technically didn't happen.

We've gone through lulls like this before. I suspect a lot of it has to do with the student population on here, since we're in the middle of midterms/final projects/coming up to exams.

Although I have noticed an increase in respectable newbie involvement, more so than usual.

Works really well with the avatar. "Well, hmm, things sure have seemed quiet around here folks!" /waddles out.

I've been working behind the scenes to eliminate as many undesireable members as I can.

I have a list.

Four posters in this thread are on it.

I've been busy with new life changes, ex new girlfriend, new job position, and also less game time but I'd love to be on here more

I miss you guys and the constant squabbles and drama and laughs

perhaps we make another photo editing thing or have more contests for game winning

I don't put too much trust in to alexa but if you simply look at the members online it's pretty obvious there has been a huge drop off. The member online list used to be filled with people, now it's down to a line maybe 2.

Quality over quantity is what I always say.

Alexa is just a traffic monitor for shizz like search engine terms and visits etc. for a whole website. Hardly an accurate reflection of how many active members / posters there is on a specific forum on a website...

Slightly lower than usual, but not by much. It also makes sense given people getting into the meat of the school year, plus no super huge announcements lately.

I hardly notice a difference at all really. The only thing I can think of is we've burned ourselves out on religion bashing threads again, but it just be a few months before we're back in the mood for more, just like its always been. Also, Virus stopped posting a billion stupid threads every day, so maybe that's contributing to the sense of a loss of activity, though that being a detriment is questionable at best.

As good a thread as any to ask why my sweat thread was closed.

As for the topic, yeah, there are ups, there are down. There's really nothing wrong.

That link is interesting. But that's just another Alexa type deal that you can't really count on it for true statistics.

doubt fishbulb or whomever is working on the site would post actual traffic numbers but even then that's deceiving because for every 10 visitors there is 1 member logged in. non logged in members do not a community make

~30 posts in ~ 6 hours seems like normal activity to me.

Also, I blame the new infraction system that prevents non-logged in members from seeing the lounge. I blame it solely because I think its dumb, and not because I think it actually has had any significant affect.

Sorry, I'm dealing with mild flatulence at the moment. Hopefully I didn't scare too many people off.

Since we're blaming things we don't like then I blame the 80 private message limit. That limit makes no sense.

This is the horrors of depopulation. Go make many babies, humanity.

You know, I believe you 100% and it is for that reason I hate you.

I've noticed there have been less posts, but most of the posts are worth reading.

Most of us aren't even aware of that limit and will probably never reach it, so I don't understand what you mean. Besides, if you have too many private messages, just delete the old ones. Simple.

We have Mini Munro, but I guess by the time he understands what the Internet is most of us will be gone. Who knows what this place could look like in the next five or ten years? Fifteen, twenty? Can't even process it, my mind is spinning in circles like a unicycle.

Get back to me in 7 years Mr. 2009. And I don't like to delete stuff, it's probably a mental condition but it is what it is.

Get back to me in 7 years Mr. 2009.

I will, and when seven years do pass, you better hope I don't find you. Right now I'm like one of those Jedi Padawanas, but sooner or later, I'm going to overcome my Master and defeat him. When that happens, the power that I shall hold will be unquestionable and undeniable.

Wait, what?

Man, I must have like... The opposite of this probable mental condition. I've only had 1 private message since joining and after I read it, it went straight into deletion land.

You should see my E-Mail Inbox. It's so shiny, I'm proud of it. It's like a diamond studded cock.

I recently spent a good half hour deleting all the backed up emails in my inbox so it would be nice and clean. No regrets!

I'm one of the oldest members on this forum, I frequent here often. None of the big names around here even know who I am. I just lurk in the darkness. Forum activity is normal. Please go about your business and thank you for your cooperation.

I recognize you by name ShinRa. Jus sayin
