Ok..I have a big outdoor map, so I put a light_enviornment in the middle of my map, and everythings still pitch black. Do I need to have a skybox for the light_enviornment to work??

Thanks.

There are too primary settings within the Light_env. entity, one being the Light value and the Ambient value. The Light value is the light generated from the skybox, and the ambient is just that, the ambient light setting. So, yes. You need the skybox to take advantage of the light__env. entity.

heres a better question.. if its an outdoor map.. whys there no sky?? so make a skynbox.. they arent hard..

dude chill...it was a simple question.. , more or less

no need to be all crazy. and btw, afaik..to make an light env work all u would need is 1x1 block of skybox for it to light up.

If you still get nothing check your angle. I think its set to straight down by default (-90) but it might have been changed somehow, somewhere.

put the pitch as -90 and in the middle of the skybox

straight down lighting dosent look good put the pitch at -75
