Something HAS to be done about certain sprays!

as distasteful as some are, i have to side with the group that this is an M rated game. if you can't handle it, turn sprays off.
 
I use a spray that shows a pic of a cab driver that was shot point blank in the back of the head with a double barreled shotgun. The caption on the pic says Headshot.

It's in poor taste, I suppose, but I haven't had anyone complain about it. I see a lot of people crowd around it sometimes though, but no one cares much. Guess the average CS player is a lot more jaded than I am, because normally a picture of someone with their entire face blown off would give me a gut reaction.
 
It's weird. The graphic sex stuff doesn't "bother" me as much as the violent stuff. Somehow, in some twisted way, I find the images of people maimed less tasteful than *******. :\

I crack up when someone sprays one near spawn and the rest of the team, instead of rushing just sits there looking at it... Some people have different reactions to these things. Just because the game is rated M does not mean people should be allowed to post such horrible things publicly like that. I should not just have to "deal" with it or turn sprays off. 1) I totally agree that disgusting sprays have to be prevented.

2) Whoever says "If you don't like it, don't play" has the IQ of a napkin. That's the stupidest response you could give. Most people find those sprays disgusting and spoil their gaming experience. It's not right for a few sick dumbasses to deter many others from enjoying the game after they have paid a lot of money for the experience. Please think before you post a narrow-minded response like that. Thanks.

I find it odd that some in this thread appear to be bragging about their callousness to repulsive imagery. It's not a sign of maturity but moral indifference. Personally, I'm glad I still have the conscience to find certain things disgusting.

IMHO the only thing that needs to be done is a tool for server admins to deal with the problem, and possibly a system to permaban people from steam who repeatedly violate posted content guidelines on servers.

I say Valve should ban all extreme content for example if someone is seen spraying extreme content that doesnt belong in a video game then valve should first give them a warning to remove it or have there source account deleted. if they carry on to do it then they get there account whiped out. Its the only way i can see of destroying the problem.

and afterwords we will see OmFG!!11! my account was deleted posts and we can all laugh at them coz they deserved it

I think i've seen somewhere before... a plugin for the original that let you see who had sprayed what. How about we just expand upon that, and stop trying to censor the game? 10 year olds shouldn't be playing it anyway. Censoring swearing is stupid too, this forum doesnt do that, it relies on HUMAN moderators who will delete the childish and spammed swearing.

The answer my friends, is better admin tools and plugins, and we should see them after HL2 is released.

why? then you usually have a group of professionals who don't scream hacker when someone get them and that weeds the immature fewls out. plus it allows me in whenever I want in, even though it's got 40 people in almost all day, someone gets banned every couple of rounds.

Thats not twisted at all. IMO thats a sign of real character. People who are offened by filth and not violence,. now THAT is twisted.

Theres nothing in this world that I cant take. Tub girl. Christ, its just fecal matter. I find the objectification of real violence to be far more repugnant. Still, its not the material I cant handle, but the lack of empathy for humanity that I find disgusting.

I respect that other people have sensitivity issues, and would not use these sprays myself. But I think the option to disable all sprays is enough of a solution that people like MilkMan12 don't really have a valid argument.

But CS:S is a video game, I do not have to see stuff like that in a video game, and I SHOULD NOT have to disable sprays (most of em are funny and great) because of some pricks who think its ok to do what they are doing. its absolutely not ok.
