Right, i don't know if it has any relevance to this thread but when my friend on MSN said goodbye i checked the time and it was 100% 00:01 (1 minute past midnight) i even made a point of it.

I look down about a minute late and it reads 23:58

I've had days where everything just felt wrong with the world. I remember one of them clearly.

The weather had been overcast and made everything feel somehow ominous anyway. I was taking a bus to my friend's place, and there was a guy sat in the luggage compartment, talking to himself and screaming. The bus driver seemed equally insane, refusing to stop at half the bus stops en route, despite the fact that the bus was near empty and the stops were full of people trying to hail the bus.

Later, when walking from the bus stop to my friend's place, I saw a snail on the pavement. In its own slime, the snail had written a message:

2,000,000e
(commas are my addition, original message was in joined up writing)

When I eventually spoke to my friend, he said he's felt the exact same oppressive, out-of-jointness all day. He said it was the kind of day where you expect anyone and everyone to be about to stab you while giggling dementedly.
