exactly what is your reason for registering at hl2.net instead of any other forums??
is the valve info thread really that popular and well known or something?

don't get me wrong, this is obviously the best forum for hl2 on the net, i was just curious to see why people register here.

...I only registered to ask one stupid noob quiestion about hl2 shadows...Now i cant go on my pc without visiting the forums at least once :| ...Didnt know you could get addicted to forums :p
 
Ive been playing in the Halflife2.net servers (the b33f ones) after visiting the site for a while so finally decided to join up as theres only so much u can do in the forums as an unrtegistered user ;)
 
Because it uses vBulletin, which I prefer by far and am most used to, and because it seems much better than the other HL2 forums. Yes, there's a bit too much flaming going on at times, but then it's excellent compared to other forums, where flaming is order of the day...

I joined for the women, the food and for the money....By the time I realised what this place actually was, it was too late for me to get away.
 
1) It was the first decent hl2 site imho
2) it had a coding forum :D

I just made this name so I could ask a question and leave, then I was linked back here and realized I was logged in to a site I never remembered, so I started posting.

I think I got Foxtrot started on this site if I remember.
 
Just joined recently,did not like the other forums I checked out,but halflife2.net forums just sort of clicked for me,you know had that right vibe about it. ;)
 
I had nothing better to do. Losers.

By that I mean I wanted to talk about hl2 back when I was with the hype, now im mainly camping offtopic, CS, and Other games chat.

at the time of my registration the majority of threads were anti-valve threads that went no-where, so i registered to call a guy an idiot and before i knew it......

The Steam forums look like crap and the maturity level is .. ehm ..

This forum looks nice :) The people are nice :) Relevant information instead of flaming. I could go on for at least 5 more seconds but decided to stop there..
 
When I joined it was because I was looking for a popular HL2 forum, I tried 3 others but they all had around 50 members. Then I came here and saw that it had a little over 600 members as well as a very nice community so I joined.
 
I was searching on Goooooooooooooooogle for Half-Life forums, and guess what came up?
 
I was peeing in a blizzard and just happened to chance upon these forums.
 
Huge community. Great mix of intelligent discussion and typical forum trolling/flaming. A messageboard forum just wouldn't be right without those kinds of things. Also, this place isn't all release date/system reqs/Halo2 vs. HL2 vs. Doom3 threads.
 
No life, no future, no expectations.

i was jus looking for the one with the biggest community oh yeh and this waas the first thing can came up when i typed in HL2 fourms in Google...
 
I don't remember exactly. I had something to say, and I thought it was worth saying I guess. It was a long.. long... time ago.

and yes, I was originally drawn here by the valve info thread... back when it was about four pages long.

I joined because i'm very interested in HL2, and liked the artwork of that bio-mech looking dude up top. I'll stay because of the good energy i've received and observed in the community.
 
I wanted to see attachments... I couldnt see them without registering... then one or two topics drew me in, and i was stuck... stuck in this web of.. web of.. uh... sin! (yes, that will do nicely)
 
I registered here because I wanted to get serious about mapping. I've practiced in Hammer making CS maps...but never realy finished a "real" one.

Now that HL2 is coming out, I feal it is a chance to start over; join the HL2 mapping community. Perhaps I'll finaly create a real, profesional map.

I had a problem with HL2 and decided I'd find a large group of HL2 players to help me..

Then I found this place and thought it was cool. Everyone was really helpful and friendly. Now I check back here a lot. :monkee:
 
Check back a lot, eh? Seeing as you've been a member for one day, I suppose 'checking back a lot' is at least 17 times per day :LOL:

Hi everyone,

I joined these forums because I thought the original half- life was a great game, and now I’ve got HL 2 and cannot use it, I thought its best to join a forum I think they know what they are talking about, hence here I am. ;)

And I hope with what I learn here I can help other newbie’s! :)
 
I came across the boards a while ago, after hours of browsing the Internet for HL, due to th recent craze. The forum seemed rather interesting, but seeing as I didn't known (and still don't...yet) HL2, I figured I would feel kinda out of place here, not knowing much about it and such. However, today I came across the HL fact file and was interested. But Ineeded to be registered to be able to download the fact file. So...I registered. Now, I post in the HL Source section, the off-topic section, and occasionally, the HL2 sction, if I have anything interesting to say.
