Sorry, it's yet ANOTHER thread started by someone who's watched the HL2 e3 trailer a few too many times.
In the scene in the prison with all the Ant-Lions, when the Ant-Lion Guard (or commander or whatever the hell that huge bastard of a beasty is) bursts in and kills all three of thos combine guys with his huge bulbous nose (looks like a nose to me)... He sparks when they shoot him, as in he seems to be bullet-proof... Any thoughts?

And I just realised what I was writing and just how dull this topic truly truly is. Sorry, That's about 2 minutes of your life you'll never get back. Sorry.

Seems like a big bastard version of the gonarch, or maybe actually even a gonarch that we saw in the Xen part of HL1.

He probably has a bullet proof shell, so you will more then likely have to shoot it in the head to take it down.

IIRC, it was stated that there are different kinds of the antlion aliens. That would be one of the larger classes that wasn't affected by the pheremones.

remember in the movie how huge those things were? They dwarfed the alien "foot soldiers", which actually if you think about it looked a lot like ant lions.
