Split/Second

30fps in a racing game is no fun. Damn consoles and their limited abilities.

Split Second plays fluently maxed out. It looks and plays great. As I said before my only gripe with it is the annoying AI.

I also rented Blur for the PC, to see if I liked it or not. Comparing Blur to Split Second is like comparing a school girl to an action hero.
The game itself isn't bad, it definitely is a lot more forgiving than Split Second. The cars in Blur although modeled after real ones, perform even more "arcady" and unrealistically than in Split Second IMO. However this game is what I would call a poor console port. Hell, it doesn't even let you choose your own keys. It has two default keyboard layouts, if you don't like either you're ****ed.:dozey:

These two games really shouldn't be competing against each other, they are too different in my opinion.

There should be a patch for the consoles pretty soon fixing some of the odd multiplayer issues if anyone is having problems with it :(

Also not had a chance to play any blur yet, it just looks really annoying, constantly getting shot over and over. The tracks look bland and the handeling really poor.

Saving that they have the same metacritic as us so it cannot be to bad.

I got a sweet gamepad for my PC because I've been getting games that use them lately (and I figure I could play some old roms now) so I'm thinking about picking this up. There's a demo right? I like demos of things. I've been playing Fuel which is just a brainless racing game with endless metal music looping.

I want some splosions.

They always are. Also, capped at 30fps apparently.

It may be capped but like Remus said it runs smooth as hell. The PC version is actually a pretty good port and runs much better than Blur which doesn't look half as good TBH.

That was one of my biggest issues with it, after playing Split/Second a normal race track just isn't going to cut it.

Proof that Metacritic is not always a true representation of quality.

Aye its a compleat pain in the bollocks that we have only hit 83.

There are a ton of reviews around the web giving us 9/10 or 10/10 that just are not up there wile the few retards giving us 6/10 or 7/10 seem to have been picked up on. Its rather annoying. Just hoping that word of mouth starts getting more people playing it.

Sorry to hear that. It's a shame when a good game doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

Blah... demo is no use to me. All video settings are locked... no way to change controls and make my gamepad work... still pretty neat but I don't wanna buy it not knowing if it looks great on my computer or my gamepad works.
