Spore FINAL Release Date!

I was wrong about if the plane would take off on a treadmill but I know I'm right now:

It won't make that date.

I've decided to make a giant emoticon. And you shall not stop me!

D:<

The amount of emo pessimists here is less than expected, that's good, I'm glad too see so many souls still positive about Spore and it's release date.

I also love how people say Spore has been delayed, although as far as I know, this is the -FIRST- release date that has been ANNOUNCED as being an OFFICIAL release date..:)

All the PREVIOUS release dates have just been ESTIMATES, i.e. "I hope it will come out xxx" or "I think" or "I believe", never "IT WILL".

Everyone crying delay, just so you know, this is the actual FIRST OFFICIAL release date that has been released by -EA- whom are PUBLISHERS, so technically there has been no real delays afaik.

It's also the first time the release date has been stated as being Official, and been on the website.

No, because this is the first time the release date has been officially confirmed by EA, so fu!

Wait, there's something that isn't clear; is this the first official release date?

Oh man it's been delayed so many times.

Whoa, Rapstah, slow down.

What the hell is Spore?

I think Spore is a pretty cool guy. eh never comes out and doesn't afraid of anything

In the sense that this is the first time EA has stated the game will come out at a certain date, yes.

However, there have been previous APPROXIMATIONS of release dates, especially from Will Wright, but not anything official out of the publishers(EA), for example, the previous 'release date' was that Will Wright said he was hopeful that Spore would come out before xxx.

This is the first time EA(Publisher) have ever stated "Spore comes out at xx/xx/xxxx".

EA said that the creature creation tool will be released before the game is released, just throwing this in here.

Yeah read that today on wired. Can't wait till its released so I can get to work and make something horrifying D:

Making something horrifying is easy, just make a creature that looks like George W. Bush!

In one of the Kotaku videos I saw some of the most amazing creations.

A single building was created as a XMas tree and presents (and all colored appropriately and looked like a professional model)

A UFO created into Santa on his sleigh with two reindeer!!! It was ****ing astonishing.

Also, one of the testers created 26 characters, one in the shape of each alphabet letter! haha

I decided early on when I heard that your species would be downloaded to other peoples games if they needed one like it, that I was going to create a species of complete and total assholes.

Now my dream will soon be realized :D

You just know there are going to be so many "penis-creatures" aren't there?

Well, seeing as it's EA, I'm fairly certain there will be an option when you start your game, wether to only have "Approved" creatures or "All" creatures.

Approved being creatures that are approved by EA/Maxis as being ok/childfriendly etc probably.

What's the point in making something if we can't do anything with it?

Are you deliberately trying to be dense? It's so you can create a bunch of critters before release and then just plop them straight in. So basically you get to toy around a bit with part of the game before it comes out.

I most certainly hope I don't end up visiting any porn planets. And about the creature creator being available before release, that's pwnage. We get to create the wildlife and things so that the game is already populated before release. Here's hoping for a free demo on Steam.

From what I see, Spore is not quite as simple as the Sims. Because of the evolutionary stages in it, and because you'd have to start off small anyway, your creature is under constant changes.
