Okay so I have four computers in the household, plus another stupid ass internet phone that has to be on the network(don't ask).

Anyways... I have stacked two routers to fit them all, since the one router I had only has four slots.

Ever since I did that, things have been frusterating. Every time I use a bittorrent client, the internet disconnects for the ENTIRE network... usually resulting in much frusteration. Whenever I use hamachi too, it also disconnects.

Is there any way around this? Did I do something wrong when stacking my routers? When I had just the one router, none of this shit happened.

I attribute the need for the stacked routers, and thus the cause of all this ****ing bullshit, to the internet phone... but don't ****ing ask. It makes me so furious.

UPDATE:

I changed my RWIN(unrelated though I believe) to something more efficient for my network. Strange though, since I'll be moving from DSL to FiOS in 4 days time.

I also went in and changed around alot of the DHCP addresses in the router, to make for a more stable, ordered operation. I believe this did the trick, since I haven't had the problem yet with some testing.

Just wondering, why not use a switch instead? That would cut down on the configuration complexity.

I don't have a switch(and can't afford one right now).

I also don't even know what a home user switch looks like. I only know what the large business model ones look like.

Sorry for the bump, but I have similar problems. I have a netgear adsl router, and a netgear 8 port hub linked into it, which seems to work OK for the most part. However, a couple of xboxes (original, not 360) I've tried wouldnt connect to the LAN unless they went straight into the router, and to be honest, I'd rather have a single box solution like an 8 port ADSL router - save having these dodgy bulky transformers connected into the mains 24-7 :|

I'm also planning to route every network connection in the house into a cupboard (under the stairs), where the router will go. This way, I can have 2 ethernet wall socket connections in every room, making things a lot easier.

Anyway, anyone have any thoughts on this, or possibly recommend an ADSL router solution? :stare:
