According to wikipedia, when New Hope was first released it didn't include that first scene with Jabba, not until 1997. Weird.

The immature part of me says the Biggs scene got cut because of the homosexual undertones. He's met some *nudge wink* 'friends at the academy'? Hamill sounds as camp as he ever does? That Moustache?

These are really cool. The first one is neat because of the droid and the speeder effects, but I can see why it was cut. It doesn't really help the story and it makes Vader's appearance less powerful. The Biggs scene is good. I like how they present the thought that if Luke didn't get involved with Obi-wan, his flying talents would be put to use for the empire, and who knows what would happen at that point. It also would have been pretty cool to see luke building his lightsaber but I have no idea where that scene would go.

I have no idea either, but the scene made me smile. Listening to the audio, I imagined that those dozen times he failed he was trying to assemble the saber by hand, and on the last try he just lifted all the components with the force and put them together, making minute and precise adjustments.

seriously. I remember fondly watching this box set waaay back when I was a youngin, back before Jabba was added in:

anyone ever have that set? I think it was the first VHS release (though could be mistaken). I always loved watching the trailers in the begging, which was kind of stupid since it was trailers for the very movies I owned. But they also had a clip of From Star Wars to Jedi, and Jabba's little rat creature talking into the camera always cracked me up (around 4:10)

Its been a while since I've seen The Phantom Shitfest, but which scene was Jabba in?
