Starcraft 2 confirmed!

Do it, you know you want to, and it's more than worth it.

Stupid value for my dollar. STUPID PRETTY NON-CONSOLE SIZED BOX.

Bah, Blizzard don't need any more of my money >_<

I'd better not see me walking past a game store in the next little while, or I'm gonna see to it that I walk out considerably inconsiderably less not-quite-poor. And then I'll have HELL to pay when I get on battle net, and I don't want that! No siree.

Hell no do you not ever not want that! That wouldn't be not unawful!

[edit] Also it looks like I might be getting home a couple hours earlier than I thought. If you guys see me on Xfire, maybe we'll squeeze in a match tonight?

I don't understand what you're wanting. Explain it to me like I'm 3 please!

I think he means that he wants the game to bring all of the upgrade tech/units/etc through mission to mission.

Kind of like Company of Heroes and bringing your veteran units over from the last mission(s).

Meh, I like it the way it is right now to be honest :p

Sooo true.

The only thing that bothered me were those missions where you built the base, and the next mission is the same place, but you're in your base but it's different....bothers me.

I tapdanced my way into heaven upon hearing the joyful new that Starcraft 2 will be a return to the good old RTS, not come MMOG crap.

I don't like RTS games, but I will play this for the story, as I did with the first one.

I allways sucked in RTS
but is starcraft!

and the thing that keeps my hope really up is that when you see these gameplay videos you really get the feel of starcraft, anyone else feel that?

I refuse to play the noclutter/bgh/anything liek that maps. I'll take ladder maps. Or The Hunters, that's a good one.
BGH is the closest I get to money maps.
I like The Hunters. It reminds me of BGH, but without the 20,000 minerals.

But really BGH isn't that bad. It isn't massive money like a money map, but it isn't incredibly low like a regular map. It gives you enough so the microing isn't as intense as a regular map, but your not massing units blindly like a money map.

I rather like money maps, I haven't played any normal maps in a very long time... I usually don't even play much BGH

Honestly, Evolves maps are where it's at, I'm an absolute MONSTER at evolves choice 05

It's just a mass fest though. Not my style.

UMS maps? Try the many diplomacy maps. Those test your ability to quickly think, decieve, trust, expand, and wage war. I try and stay away from a lot of the WW2 maps though.

Many many great moments from Diplomacy maps.

I love the Phantom Game Mode on Diplomacy Infinity 2. It can be freaky. Basically your all allied. Except one person is the phantom. The phantom gets some extra minerals and a bunch of gas and no people cap. It's everyone elses job to figure out who the phantom is and kill him. I've had a game where the phantom was the weakest nation. The guy right above me was the strongest nation. People attacked eachother because they thought they had figured out who the phantom was. I stayed neutral and scared shitless as everyone started to attack the strongest nation right above me. After the strongest nation somehow pulled through and won, we found out it was the weakest nation who had somehow made everyone turn on one another and attack eachother.

I've never played a Diplomacy map actually, because the one time I tried I was just extremely confused and haven't bothered since

Diplomacy was fun as hell in first time, but it got old and stupid when every single idiots started to backstab each other and always tries to ally with whoever the strongest.

You must play some shitty Diplomacy's, because in most of my games it's about overthrowing the strongest nation or having quite even teams.

Yes sometimes the game gets locked up where almost everyone's allied. But those are sometimes the most tense ones. Because you know someone's gonna attack... and when that happens sides are going to be picked and a massive war is gonna start.

However most of my recent games haven't got locked up at all.
Stay away from Diplomacy Gold at all costs. It's quite gay.

I have you added, if I see you online i'll walk you through a Diplomacy map.

The best thing I like about Diplomacy maps is when there is not teams and Diplomacy-Style teams are followed. Basically, your allies ally is often times your enemy. This creates a lot of tension, and very interesting games. Because you two are gonna attack eachother soon...but what about your ally.. who's he gonna side with? Can you take both of them? Can you convince your ally to help you? Is your ally secretly showing him where some of ur stuff is? It makes every decision important, and it's like the Cold War. Two countries, both equal in power..... just letting the tension build up... and eventually something's gonna give and theres gonna be an all out war.

Good deal, though I probably won't have time to play for a few days. Graduation is fast approaching :D

So who has their copy preordered?

*raises hand* Hell yeah!!! Now for the long agonizing wait...

My favorite UMS maps have always been Elements RPG maps :D

I recently reinstalled SC+BW and scoured Bnet and the internet for Elements maps only finding ONE shitty version. I hosted it and a guy in there had TONS of them. I got like 13 different types of Elements RPG maps from him :D

I'm gonna play one now. Jumping on Xfire if anybody wants to play.

Evolves are pretty epic, yeah.

What annoys me is evolves maps that teleport your mass-attack director, rather than letting it sit on a trigger and make your units stream to that part of the map.

Yeah, there are a LOT of shitty evolves maps from the old days, just make sure you go with evolves choice and you're usually okay. Sticky massers ftw.

Hmmm, I don't know, but I haven't played UMS maps in years. After I first stopped playing for some time, I ended up coming back playing just regular old maps. I'd look at the UMS list, and I couldn't find anything I could get into, so I stopped trying :(

Someone needs to show me some good ones.

Will do Pitz. Will do.

Dodge The Rapists is actually quite fun. The expert version does take some level of skill. I'm not bad at them, but mostly because i'm constantly clicking and usually my screen isn't even on the zergling but right above it. I have a very skillful way of playing it.
