Has anyone seen the new interview on Gamespot? Atleast, I think it's new. Anyway, my faith was restored in the SP campaign when the Blizzard employee (forgot his name) said "we have some really ambitious plans for single-player, but we're not ready to talk about them just yet." He also said that they are planning to take a bit longer than on their previous projects, so in a way I'm happy to hear that.

Knowing how Blizzard makes games, they will redo starcraft 2 at least once. So I don't expect to see this game until 2012.
 
I'm back into playing StarCraft regurarly. The gameplay is amazing, seriously.

I'm in a very big RTS kick,and I want to finish off C&C3 first, then get back into Supreme Commander a bit, then work my way backwards to StarCraft...mmmmmmm
 
I'm playing Starcraft again, but that's a pretty regular cycle. I do have Dawn of War: Dark Crusade and Supreme Commander both lying around, and I haven't played either of them, so I should probably get into them at some point, and Company of Heroes is sorely demanding a revisitation.

We should play some Sc sometime.

I got bored and went online today for a 3v3BGH(I never do melee/TvB only UMS). I had a zerg, and toss on my team with me terran. Doing good, but I get hammered right away by a zerg rush. Quick save, and I rebuild my ass and start pumping out siege tanks. Meanwhile while I was rebuilding, my teammates blocked them all off at a single chokepoint and took out one. The other 2 were both zerg, so we did a tank push to take out there defense and lurkers. Then the zerg on my team mutalisked him, and the toss attacked him while I took more and more of the last players defense out.

Then I did a Diplo Gold UMS game... I had gold so much. But nothing else to play. I watched one guy take spain and I took england. Dropped his ass and drove him out of spain. He fled to france/italy. Attacked from spain, and dropped on france and well... it was a slaugter. Searched for the last guy, found him in sweeden. Ugh.... it was a slaughter... and I won.

Er, how? I can't play WC3 for more than an hour before uninstalling it, but Starcraft's been on all of my computers permanently for the past eight or nine years.

Such as? No other commercial game from that time is played as much today. Besides W3 is crap hero spam.
 
The graphics may be technically shit, but everything else about the game is pretty much flawless.

BTW, I'm playing through SC and BW again. Anyone want to teach me how to not suck ass at this game?

Actually no other pc game from that time is played as much as Starcraft.
I mean I'm on Starcraft right now. It has 80,000 players playing online. This is on a weekday. It usually has just as many or more players than Wc3 playing it at any given time.


Well stigmata, I havn't played the main game in a while but I use to be pretty good. I could give you some pointers.

I play on USEast, CyberPitz is the name. Add me to friends, and we'll hit it up tonight, and we'll see what we can do. I may not be godly, but I like to think I can still hold my own ;)
 
Good. And are we going to be playing Brood War? I really love the campaign, but I don't like the fact that you're forced to tech before you get your power units up. Makes for a very "luck" based game to me at times.

Guessing games, blah. "Will they have the scan up yet? Will they have DT?!" So yeah, I stick with Vanilla, and it treats me well.
 
I don't know where my Starcraft disc is, so it has to be Brood War.

It's possible I won't be able to play tonight, but try me either way. I'm going to hop on Battle.net right now and play a bit.

You know you can play original Battle.net with the BW Disk? THat's how I used to do it all the time.
 
They can have new units, they could even possibly have the best multiplayer around.

All I ask on their part is to include some sort of persistent technology aquisition between missions, so that you can get stuck into the action from the start of a mission (sort of like the Homeworld series)

I'm up for a bit of Starcraft tonight. I'm gonna be at my girlfriend's place for the next 7 hours or so, but I have to get my SC disc and CD key from her anyway :p I'll be back around midnight or 1-ish Eastern time, and I've got both of you (Pitz and Ennui) on Xfire :D

Well I have to be asleep at that point because I have work and school tomorrow :( this weekend maybe though.

I just annihilated two noobs. It was a 3v3 zero clutter map, three people dropped and we said FFA, the other two people on the top and me on the bottom, nr 30. They didn't FFA, as I discovered, and tried to attack me way before the 30 minutes - at like 10 or 15 minutes in, max. Well, too bad they suck, because I had 90 hydras waiting for them that proceeded to rape their attacking force, then I built mutas to max and eradicated them.

It feels SO GOOD... like when you pwn a BSer or something.
 
I refuse to play the noclutter/bgh/anything liek that maps. I'll take ladder maps. Or The Hunters, that's a good one.
